This prompt reminds me of a scenario that occurred to me in the middle of last year. I realised that investing in someone isn't something one can just jump into; there must be proper analysis and calculations to ensure that a loss does not occur and that there will also be a reasonable amount of profit. I was once approached to be invested in, I mean, for someone to invest in the business I was doing, and I had to pause for a while to make calculations based on how strongly I could deliver, especially to avoid incurring a huge loss because, hey, the person wanting to invest in me is a very close friend, and I wouldn’t want money problems to come between us. In case the person happens to come across this post, hey, thank you for the trust
It was at that moment I realised that although there are many things, human capacities, and businesses one can invest in, they don’t just happen like that. There is a strong need for a critical look into the future of the investment. Oh yeah, I was doing well in my business, and it also needed to be boosted, but after careful consideration, we decided to get into another sector which I can handle very well and where the profit outlook is very reasonable.
Let’s invest in agriculture, I have good knowledge in that area!
No lies, there is a huge difference between the olden-day type of farming and what we have today. I have a passion for growing crops, and that passion was birthed from how we were brought up with farm work, mainly crop farming. That aside, a boss of mine has been into pepper crop farming for a couple of years, and I have grown in knowledge on how to blend the conventional way of farming with the modern type that uses irrigation and fertilisers. This is something I can completely handle on my own with regard to the practical work, although labourers will be hired once in a while.
For this, all I need is the finance to put things together, and my brain will do the rest. There may be problems like pest attacks and other disturbances, but they are controllable, and that is where “no room for sluggishness” comes in to handle everything.
Just like I always tell friends around me, I’m not the type who, when things are placed under my care, watches the situation go bad and then worse, no. My mind is always there, and that is my strength. So whenever a task is given to me, I first check my capability and interest in it to be sure it is something I can do, because I hate to start something and have it end in failure. Yes, challenges and failures are inevitable in some cases, but I always try my best to prevent total failure from happening.
Thanks for reading.
