Here is my entry to the second task of the newbies initiative scheme in Hive learners community.
My experience on hive so far
Let me pick it from the week we started this scheme, I must say that I've done a little bit fair but not that good to my taste.
I reminds myself everyday on the goals I've set and looking at them today(at the time of writing this), I saw that I'm improving in certain areas while some areas are fighting me back and forth.
There was a day I spent enough time here engaging and I saw a shocking increase on my account, from that day I made it a must to keep up the good work so as to keep increasing but...the real world will sometimes have its way.
But it's fine, I have more opportunities ahead of me to still push it.
Why plagiarism is not welcomed on Hive
The easiest definition of plagiarism is simply theft. There's no two ways about it!
Hive is still standing strong today because they don't support broad day robbery like some undeveloped countries in the world. I'm not a prophet but I'll tell you that, the day Hive decides to allow plagiarism, that's the day this platform will turn to be like those corrupt countries🤭.
I remember when I began my writing journey in the other platforms, I had up to five accounts that got spammed because I was so lazy to cook up articles by myself, I was getting some make up stories somewhere. So bad! But when I understood the takes, I found writing to be fun.
It'll surprise you that I hate plagiarism as much as Hive does, how?
How would you feel when you see your "brain racked" written article being posted to another platform by another person without your consent? You'll feel angered, right? That's how it works with my system and if care is not taken, I might go far to arrest the punisher.
Another thing is that, It irritates me so much to spend my precious time to read the one particular article twice(in different places) and I know this is applicable to alot of us here.
The importance of TAGS
On hive, tags are as important as publishing in a community. That's to say, when you use a tag, your blog automatically appears on the search engine of the that community.
Look at a typical example;
Let's say I wrote something related to finance, published it on hive learners and I used #leofinance as tag. This article automatically pops up on the article list of leofinance community whenever they want to see or reward people that posted in their community.
Usage of tags earns an article more money with community tokens.
General TAGS
Let me be truthful; before we had lectures on our second newbie initiative class, I didn't know the functionality of some tags, I used to use most of the tags because I saw people using them, infact I saw #ocd as a general tag because they are"omnipresent".
Also, It was during the class that I learnt that some of the TAGS that are tagged "general tags" now are prone to change anytime. How do I mean?
The owners of the community can decide to revoke the generality of the tags and if someone use it recklessly, then a query would easily follow. That's why it's good to keep updated in these communities to know the latest info.
So where are the current general tags?
First on my list if #hive and that's because it's the blockchain itself. You earn a little token of hive when you use this tag. The highest I had received from this tag as been 0.001Hive. it seems it's fixed
The second on my list is #neoxian which is gotten from the neoxian community. Upvote from here gives neoxag token. Maybe this community has paused the generality of this tag and I didn't know... Let me know on the comment section if it's no longer a general tag. Thank you!
The third is the #pob or #proofofbrain which is gotten from the proof of brain community. You earn pob token when you use this tag.
The fourth is #ecency which is recommended for those using the Ecency frontend. You can always use this topic irrespective of the content of your article as long as your posting via the Ecency frontend
It's possible there are others that I'm yet to know.
