Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This is going to be Week 79, Edition 03 of our Weekly Featured Content.
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to come to an end. We are currently on our third topic for this week which is “LIFE AS A STUDENT”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last one which was “PROS AND CONS OF CIVILIZATION”. This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts on civilization and how far it had come with regards to humanity. We got to explore some of the good civilization brought to us, and also the damage it brought as well.
We got to see how huge a role civilization played to us as humans and how it helped us as a whole to be able to use the world at large to our advantage at a rate that was unheard of never before in history. It was an enlightening topic indeed.

And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. This author took us through most of the dangers civilization has brought upon the earth, placing Mother Nature in danger. He also shared with us the advancement of technology and how it has been helpful in improving the standard of living for everyone on earth. Anything in excess is bad, the same for technology, when we rely way too much on it, we’ll find we only harm ourselves in the long run.
CIVILIZATION IN OUR SOCIETY TODAY: THE GOOD AND THE BAD by
For this author, she pointed out the role of civilization in the field of medicine and how it improved life expectancy, citing the COVID-19 pandemic. However, she also talked about how the advancement of technology is so easy to be misused and it could be dangerous in the hands of whoever wielded them. That shows how technology can be a double-edged sword.
This author told us just how far humanity had come, using the evolution of phones as an example. However, something that worked so well for the betterment of the people can also end up being the very thing that places them in danger. That is a threat technology poses.
