Talking about adopting children, it happens to be something I love so much, and if God should place me in a better position and I have the capabilities for it, its something I really ha w interest in, even if I have children of my own. Because the joy of a boy or girl who didn't know anyone or anything, now being able to refer to someone as daddy and mummy...that feeling is priceless, now having people who will look over you, not like their own, but as their own. Its something I would really love orphans to experience.
Now, talking about the strict adoption process, the strictness is understandable. Its not as if they are putting properties in our care, but children... Humans, that need care, attention and fatherly/motherly love. They are handing over a future into your hand and you don't want any strict rules and such, common. It is expected.
So, I agree with some of the rules and certain investigations that should be done, talk of doing background checks, checking for the financial stability of those involved, their health, also whether they have criminal records, and the kind of work they do and the environment they live in, all those are very very important and shouldn't be traded for anything...
Like I said earlier, the above listed shouldn't be traded for anything or eased.... But then, I feel there are certain parts of the process that could be looked into... Talk of the various unnecessary paperwork, talk of the delays and the excessive bureaucracy... These are things that should be looked into, some people are genuine and are good people, but the delay they experience at times can tire them out and make them lose interest, and that will affect a potential child who could have been in a family enjoying real love.
Now, I'm saying this from a personal point of view, this is not something I read online or was told, it is something I've seen with my own eyes, how unnecessary delays and unnecessary paperwork and all made families lost interest in taking a child into their custody. Also, I understand why some orphanages are doing this, it is understandable, but then it really needs to be looked into.
Also, some are not really doing it for the sake of the kids, inwa ssww how an orphanage that could have let go of about 20children in the space of a month intentionally delayed those who came for them, they just keep giving them excuses and the likes. At the end of the day, we found out that they did it because they were expecting some donations, empowerment tools and the likes, and those children they could have let go off were part of those they counted. So, they just want to receive the funds and tools first, let the givers see that the kids are the exact number they told them, and after all that is done, they will let go of the children... Without giving them anything. Maybe they will sell those things sm share the money between themselves...I can't say. But almost every family who came for the kids then got tired and stop bothering them.. kids that should have been allowed to have a family.
Also, like I said earlier, this is coming from what I've seen. A lot of this organizations/orphanages gets donations, supports and all which are all meant to cater for the kids with them, but we find out that these children were being neglected and treated as if they aren't humans. And that is what you see that orphanages aren't full the way they once were, kids even run away this days and go somewhere far start doing things for themselves..even if its menial jobs.
So, even though there's the need to reduce and look into certain rules, we shouldn't do so to the most important things, which can mean lowering the standards. Kids staying in orphanages are already experiencing a whole lot, not to talk of the motherly and fatherly love they lack, so a family that would take them in must be one that is okay, responsible, and also very patient.
We don't want our children to suffer in the wrong hands, that is why those rules are in place...we all know that, but then certain rules should be adjusted, still the child's well-being and welfare should come first.
