Teaching A Subject I Have Passion For

Teaching is a distinguished work, but not it is not for everyone, because it requires a lot of commitment to become an effective teacher. As a teacher, you'll have to spend your day in school focusing on the needs of your students, there are times you'll stay awake at night to prepare lesson notes for the next day. But being a teacher is a good thing because as teachers teaching a subject, they engaged themselves in continuous learning to gain more knowledge, and they must know the reason why they chose a particular subject.

However, I'm not enchanted with teaching work, If at all I'll be going for teaching work, I will be going for a subject I have passion for. It's the passion I have for the subject that will drive me to give it my best. I believe that passion has a lot to do when choosing a career, else reverse will be the case. So if peradventure I become a teacher, my preferred subject will be Food Science. Oops! I know what you're thinking, I like food right? No, Food Science is not all about cooking and eating food, it's all about processing, preservation, quality, Nutrition, packaging, and distribution of Food, However, it is more volatile than the little details I described here.

Why did I choose this particular subject?

• Sharing my passion for the subject.
  It's a subject that I can teach with enthusiasm. There's a happiness I derive from the subject and one thing about productive teaching is enthusiasm because that alone can captivate students to develop a passion for that subject too. I love everything about FST, it's a subject I can confidently talk about even if it happens to be impromptu, and I'll make sure I give it my best.

• Shaping lives
  I will love others to also understand the basic concepts of the subject, most especially my student. I want to impact the knowledge to the upcoming generation and make them the best they can be. when I make them understand it they'll be able to use it effectively In any field they find themselves because as a food scientist, they can choose to work as a teacher, in the hospital, or in any food processing industry and there's a joy I'll derive when I see my students performing skillfully.

• Wanting others to be part of the changing world
  Initially, I said Food Science is a very broad subject, and as the world is advancing, there will always be new discoveries in foods generally. You might be asking, what is new about the food we take always? There are lots of things we don't know about food e.g using food to cure illness, knowing the contents in our foods, etc. I will love to impact the knowledge to my students in other to help them learn about the changing world and to make them prepare solely for it.
