I had to add the word "Dynamic" there before I state it clear that my family got no tradition that has been on a repeat with no changes every December. And that is because we don't participate in the most popular feast during this time and we live our December days like usual.
But there are some activities I have come to realize that they keep happening every December even when we don't plan towards it. Not such a surprise, it is about to happen again this December although I'm not sure how exactly it would go.
We engage in a lot of activities as a family through the year but December is the month we get to have more time to each other and do more things together. There are a lot of activities set out for the month of December as a family but these ones I'll mention are the highlights for me.
They are mostly get together parties that becomes beautiful memories with so much fun to experience. As a family, the first activity we always look forward to is attending dad's company end of year get together as I had stated in my last prompt post.
We never miss it and we would always go together, come back home together with so many goodies to enjoy more at home. As I write this post, we are making preparations for this year's own which is happening tomorrow. Maybe I'll share some memories in a post here for the updates hehe.
Another awesome activity we function in as a family is, Our church youth get together.
We get together with the youth, talk about how the year went for us, play games, fun bible quiz, food competitions, singing competitions, and most excitedly, we share gifts among ourselves during this get together. For the past years, I've been attending these occasions and I have some gifts today that I still thank those days for.
Another date has been set for this same activity this year and we are looking forward to attending it again. I also hope I'll get to share this year's memory with you here when it happens.
And the highlight I love most is the one we get together as family to pray together for the new year as it approaches. For this function, we get to sing more and with dad who is always busy at work on normal days. This function lasts for hours but never tiring or boring, it's my favourite part of the month as it helps me reflect on the outgoing year and plan better for the upcoming year.
Other highlights of our family tradition is the too much food available at home. Like today, dad brought a huge size of meat that we will have to preserve while we eat too much through this month. There's also the part where we get to go on different outings and spend memorable times together.
So yeah, we have it dynamic but very fun and memorable for us and I pray for long life to continue to make memories with them.
