For someone who has lived in the rural areas for some years before moving to the city, I'd say I have quite a lot to share about my preference. The rural areas have their amazing experiences to go with that people love to have and that is same for the urban areas, both Habitation comes with their benefits, hindrances and specials.
Which is my preferred Habitation if both are unique in their own way? I didn't find a hard time coming up with a answer to this question because I've experienced both habitation and find myself feeling much better in one of them which I'll reveal as I talk about their uniqueness.
I live in Warri city with my family here in Delta state, a place popularly known to be over populated, extra busy with lots of crazy habitants in it π there's almost no day without one drama or another, I call the people living here "Cruisers" because they find fun in almost everything especially on things that should be taken serious.
One thing about cities, there are always a few places around them that gives off the rural habitation vibe and surprisingly, I like to avoid such places. Yes, I prefer the urban living and I'm sure you must have guessed that already. Living in the urban areas have opened doors to better electricity, better internet connection, countless technologies, better opportunities for me and my family.
I bet that whoever has lived in the rural places will have known just how the urban places are amazing in these aspects because it is more of experiencing it before giving a conclusion on your preference. Living in the city have been from one better living to another and I can say I'd choose living here over and over simply because of the opportunities it presents to me as habitant.
While the rural places may be more peaceful, simple and down to earth... I honestly can't stop thinking about the opportunities that are off these areas. A look at this picture I used is an example on it's own, people doing all the work by their hands when there definitely would be machines for it or a more refined way to get it done.
Hygiene... There are no good hospitals or treatment facilities there but they happen to be the ones practicing low hygiene which I would really want to break free from. Cleanliness is practiced there but I think it is better and well practiced at the urban areas with the machines available.
There's also the mentality thing that comes with people who grew up in rural areas compared to people who grew up in urban area. Indeed, our environment play a big role in how we think, act and accept things. I love to be open to new experiences, new people, new things to explore but I've encountered a lot of people from the rural areas tagging such mindset as being immoral and not contented.
The urban living is my preference and if I want to experience the rural style of living anytime, I'd visit but not to move there. Another thing is, I could create that peace, simplicity and close to nature vibe for myself in the Urban side of the world with money... That's possible.
