I don't know exactly when it happened, but I believe it was around the time I started learning more about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. I've been fixated on the technology, and it now functions. You might be surprised to learn that I learned the majority of the cryptocurrency and blockchain concepts while staying up late watching videos and reading articles on cryptocurrency. And that's it; I could stay up all night for days to do research and read the latest information. In fact, I write and draft the majority of my content for Hive at night. And I got into the habit of having trouble falling asleep at night even when I don't browse at night.
I don't really know if my method will work for many, because my body is naturally conditioned to stay up light into the nigh, even if I'm not working or reading, I find it hard to sleep early.
Anyway, here are some effective tips that has and is help my night owl life.
- Caffeine: this has to be the most widely known method of staying up night. Though researchers have proven it can disadvantageous to take it too much and in old age. Some medical sources have recommended complete abstaince from any caffeine related product, though.
having enough sleep during the day: this has to be one of the healthiest methods. It doesn't involve any intake of what may or may not be healthy to the body. Just take out time to have a siesta, enough to keep you up at night. I usually impore this method when I feel my intake of caffeine has become a tad bit much.
Soaking your legs in a bowl filled with cold water: every millinemals would know what I'm talking of here. When there wasn't coffee, or alarms and the rest, this method was readily available for use. The water mustn't be cold though, but for effective results, you can decide to make it cold. You get a bowl, fill it with water of your preferred temperature and keep your legs in it for the period of time you'd need to be awake. Trust me, no one who really means to stay up would fall asleep in that condition. It would be so uncomfortable to do so.
Setting your alarm: doesn't always work, but trusted and can't be ruled out
Music: this one is my personal inventory. When I've got articles to write, deadlines to meet up with and assignments to do, and I really mean to not sleep off, I use this method. There's no way I can sleep off with music blasting in my ears… and yeah, .make sure you don't play your favourite song, or a slow jam. Play something loud and rowdy and unlikeable. You surely can't go wrong on that.
- Something to chew on: not exactly effective, but it's my own way of telling myself 'eiss, you can see all those juicy peanuts you'd get to eat if you can keep yourself from falling asleep'. More like a reward-for-work system for me.
- Conditioning and setting your mind: this is a strong one for strong willed people. Conditioning your mind is something only you can do.
