Hi friends, it is good to be here again for another edition of Hive Learner Contest, W17e2 which I tag 'Favorite Family Pet'.
Pets has always been around most people's home and we all keep pet for one reason or the other.
Every since childhood, Mom's favorite pet had been goats most especially female goat. She loves rearing goats a lot and through this the entire family developed the same interest. Goat can be annoying at times but they are lovely animal to be with.
Year in year out, we always have goats around the house and whenever Mom notice that we already have quite a large number, she give out to people who wanted to rear them and we also have some (especially male) for family consumption, goat meat pepper soup always taste nice.
But among all, we do have favorite, our lovely favorite is named Brown, why? Because of it spotless brownish color.
Brown had been part of our family for quite a while, it gestation period is 7 months and it had giving birth thrice. It recognizes all members of my family even in the dark. Whenever Brown sees us, it will bleat continuously for you to know that it sees you and not until you call it name it will not stop the shout (it's embarrassing at times).
We always treat brown fairly, it eats whatever we eat. Brown had been spoiled to the extent that if we mistakenly leave any door open, it will walk majestically into the living room and sit. No matter your shout, it will fall on deaf ear unless you drag her out.
Brown's Habit
It cultivated a habit of loud bleating whenever anyone either family member or not drives in or out of the compound
Brown's favorite relaxation spot is the door mat. Either we are around or not it sits there comfortably (like guys y'all have your space this is mine, lol).
Whenever it's time to eat especially in the evening, let say everyone in the house had been carried away by house chores or we are watching TV shows and we forgot to put food in its plate. Brown will go to the kitchen door and continue to hit the door with it horn. This do serve as a reminder that our lovely brown is hungry.
We all love and care for brown, rearing goats is fun and we all loved it in my family. When you feed them well, they will always want to be around you and prefer most times to eat from your hand.
Well if I am opportune to have any other pet some day, I might try bird (parrot).
Thank You!
