Weekends are usually looked forward to by everyone. It is a break from the routine of weekdays and hopefully a time to unwind and rejuvenate for the week ahead. With that said, since we are all different – my idea of relaxation and rejuvenation might not be the same as someone else’s.
It starts
My ideal weekend starts on Friday evening and goes on until Sunday night. It coincides with a vacation period starting immediately thereafter. As there is no need to go to work on the following Monday - the enjoyment of the weekend can be savored and prolonged.
As I have a family, I know that my perfect weekend would definitely include them. However, it does not mean that I need to be with them all the time. I would have dinner with my children and my closest family and friends on Friday evening. We go out to dinner. We enjoy delicious foods and drinks and lots of laughter. Thereafter, I return home and watch one of my favorite movies with my husband.
The day after
The next morning, I sleep as late as I feel like. My own biological clock would determine when I wake up. Most likely I will be awake at 10:30am. I then have some tea and a persimmon or cherries for a light breakfast. Thereafter, I visit my garden. As there was a light rain while I slept in - I do not need to water the plants. I can just admire them with the droplets of water on the leaves - while I marvel at the magnificence and miracle of nature. The plants are absolutely flourishing - so I am overjoyed and make note of what I can harvest later in the day.
Immediately thereafter, I go for a walk in the park with my best friend. We laugh and chat about everything or nothing. We can also be silent together and that is fine. After our walk, it would be close to lunch time. I return home - go to my garden and harvest tomatoes, lettuce, red pepper, cucumbers etc. to make a delicious green salad to accompany my lunch.

Today is Saturday and it is a “me day”. It is my day to relax. No chores and no expectation except that I expect a masseuse to visit me shortly. After the massage, I take a nice relaxing bath. Thereafter, I snuggle up with one of the books that I have been longing to read but have not yet done so. Later in the evening, my family returns home and to my surprise they decide to cook my favorite meal. My enjoyment continues after dinner - I am left alone to finish reading. Last minute, I decide to watch another movie. I actually watched 2 movies because I can. I go to bed early without a care in the world because there are no demands or requests and all is well in my world.
The grand finale
After a lovely breakfast on Sunday morning, I go with my husband sightseeing in a town that I have never been to before or a museum on my to-do list. I return home and prepare an early dinner as I do enjoy cooking. After dinner, I relax and continue reading. During the evening, my family and I play backgammon or another fun game together.
I realize that it does not take too much for me to have a nice weekend. If I am able to see friends and family, enjoy walks, nice meals and watch a nice movie - then I am happy. No stress at all. I would be totally miserable if I am feeling ill. That would certainly change things. Health is of paramaount importance - without it everything stops. That would be the main thing that could absolutely ruin my weekend. If I am feeling well, all is possible - but it does not take much.
I decided not to overthink a response to this prompt. This is what came naturally - so this must be it - my ideal weekend.
