So when I met Vick, my mentor, in the year 2022, that's September. Before he taught me about Hive, he said I needed to advise you, my brother; he knows I've got work I'm doing then, and perhaps I'm looking for another side hustle that can bring me fortune. He then advised me, even before he started teaching me about what Hive was all about. I could remember him saying Hive is not a platform you can earn on or see as a source that will fetch you a lot of money. He said, but if you can devote your time to Hive, there will be a time when you will come to enjoy it.
He told me I needed to think about it. Well, all I needed to do was do my best and not think about the reward for now. He continues by saying, If I come for the money, then I will leave just the way the rest of the people left, but then there are so many things Hive will teach me, and then reward will come soon or later.
When I got home, I needed to sit down and think well about the advice he gave me, and I was like, Okay, I'm ready to devote my time to this. Even though I've got work that I'm doing, I was really desperate to learn and devote my time to it.
So when I started my journey on Hive, I've never for once taught about the money for a good three months; all I was doing was just doing my best and keeping trying and trying. Time passes, and then the first time I withdraw my money on Hive, it's after some months, at which point I've gone far on Hive.
This advice has not only helped me, but has helped me in so many ways on Hive. I keep thinking about it now: What if I've given up? I'm sure I will not come this far.
After so many months, I did not even bother to withdraw from my Hive wallet again, apart from my first withdrawal, because I've got other work that I'm doing. In January 2023, I went to the National Youth Service Corps, and then I needed to leave the work that I'm doing and migrate to another state to serve my father's land. When I was going to camp, I took enough money with me. As time goes on, all the money I took along is gone, and I'm left with nothing. I'm going to spend a good year in my service, which means I've got to endure no matter what happens.
My point is that at that moment in my life, throughout my one-year service there, the one thing that helped me most financially was Hive. This is because even when I was making money, I did not stop blogging.
I would not forget what he did for me, and that makes me respect him all the time, and yes, I'm still in touch with him because he still mentors me to this day.
