Whatever you face as a person in life that doesn't kill you will definitely make you stronger, and of course, tough times are one of the things we face in life.
As a Nigerian, believe me, we face tough times every now and then. Our lives are tough on their own, so talking about tough times is more like talking about what we do every day because it's already in our routine.
The hardship that the country gives us is enough to write a story, but let me not talk about that. Because tough times are like a series in my country, we have episodes and different chapters; we just have to pick one and talk about it.
So after that, I'm done with my school in 2016 and want to further it. It was so hard for me to get admission to school. And the certificate I've got is not enough to seek a job in my country. I keep trying my best, year 2017 pass, year 2018 pass, and I've already got it in mind that once year 2019 pass and I was unable to get admission, I will just hold onto the N.C.E. certificate and move on with my life. At least I've got skills, and I studied economics too.
At that point, I had already given up on schooling because it wasn't working out for me, so I moved all my money into my shop. I already have a shop and decided to have another one, so I will be working in one shop from morning till night, and then the second shop is close to my house, so I will work there at night. That is what I did.
I put all my money in it because I knew I would get it back. After two weeks, I did that. I was told by my friends that I needed to go to the main campus and that they were giving people admission to the school I wanted to go to. Remember, this was my dream before I gave up? Well, I said I should give it a try. I got to the place by traveling there; it was like they were already waiting for me there. Believe me, it was so smooth and straight-forward. In fact, I was told to pick the course I wanted.
It was just like a miracle that day, and that is where the suffering began. I had to sell all I've got because it's late admission and the money is too expensive. I borrowed money from people, and so on. I paid for my school fee and acceptance fee during that period, and I don't have a dime on me again. My family gave all they could, but it's not enough, so I don't want to disturb them.
It's just one person that I know in that school; I don't have anywhere to stay. In fact, I don't have money to feed myself. It was a lady that accommodated me for some weeks, so imagine that moment when a lady accommodated you and fed you for weeks. It was hell for me. It was a very tough moment that I will never forget. I couldn't complain or do anything, and you know, ladies and attitudes.
But at the end of everything, I'm part of the people that school will always remember. I overcome my situations step by step and become so popular in school. But then it wasn't as easy as I was saying it here.
So far, so good. The lesson I learned from it is that nothing lasts forever; all tough times will end one day, and it will make you stronger than you can ever think of. In fact, tough moments are for great people.
I'm happy I was able to cope and find my way to victory; that is enough of a testimony.
