Good day and happy Sunday to everyone, how was church today hope it was great. It is another creative Sunday contest where we are to share our creativity work here on hive learner community, it is a thing of joy to me to participate on this great contest. I am and upholstery artists in which I deal with car interior, so today I will love to share my creative work on how to change a car seat cover.
This work has really help me in many ways, it is the source of income to me and without this work I don't know how my life will look like, and you also that is going to go through this post will really help you to understand more on how to sew a car seat and with this you can do it your self without meeting any one to do it for you.
Here is the seat I have finishes changing the seat cover

Tools needed
- sewing machine
- thread
- sucket spanner of difference sizes
- star and flat scroll driver
- pliar
- clips
- scissors
- gum
- chalk
- long range
- sewing tape
- roof material
- new leather. Etc
DIY process
Let see some simple steps we can consider to make the work a success.
Step 1
Use your sucket spanner and loose the seat from the car to the work shop.
Here is the seat loose out from the car to my shop.
Step 2
Proceed to the market where the material are being sale the purchase the leather and the roof material and gum, making sure the leather match the interior of the car. In this case the customer choose the color of the seat because he want to change the interior of the car. So we are using back and red leather
Step 3
With the help of your tools loose out the main seat from the back seat for easy measurement
Step 4
Use your measurement tape and take the vertical length and the horizontal length of each joining/pattern of the seat and then write it out on the seat for easy identification when necessary.
Step 5
Now mark out the measurement on the new leather and then use your long range to draw the line together, making sure the red colour is use only on the center front and back.
Step 6
Now use your scissors and cut it out
Step 7
Now place the cut material on the old seat and then draw out the pattern of each position and then place it on a roof material and gum it together.
And you use your scissors ✂️✂️ and cut it out
Step 8
Now use your sewing machine and then join the pattern together using the old seat has reference point, this is very technical and people that can sew will fine this step simple.
Step 9
After sewing you seat cover you now clip it to the old seat and this is how it will look like
Final product part
You now tight the seat back and finally you will have this 👇👇
