The year 2020 still lingers in my mind. Everything seemed to have stopped in front of an invisible terror. I was working on an important project at the time, moving forward with many dreams and plans. But suddenly one day everything stopped. The office doors were closed, client work was suspended, our team scattered like crazy. Not just me or my office—the whole world stood still. The streets were empty, masks on our faces, fear in our eyes. That moment was a terrible chapter in history, which we read about in books, but had never experienced before in life.
Millions of people lost their jobs, many families fell into grief and poverty, the cries of losing loved ones in front of the hospital still ring in our ears. At that time, we all said—we must learn from this experience. We must be prepared so that such a situation does not happen again. We must emphasize the health sector, awareness, research, digital infrastructure—everything. For a while, everything seemed to be fine, people are becoming aware, the government is taking initiatives, and is turning to technology.
But since the beginning of 2025, an unknown terror has been spreading again. The old virus—Corona—has returned in a new form. Infections are increasing again, some are getting sick, the pressure on hospitals is increasing.
But this time one thing is different, that is—we are afraid, but we are not unconscious. Because we have gone through those terrible days of 2020, and we have learned a lot from there. Now people are wearing masks not just as a rule, but as a habit. Everyone knows the importance of washing hands, even small children know how viruses spread.
In our office, projects have not completely stopped this time either, because we have already developed the habit of continuing to work on digital platforms. There may be some risk, some uncertainty, but this time we are much more prepared.
This return reminds us—if history is neglected, it will return. However, if we learn from that history, then it is true that it repeats itself, but this time we can deal with it differently. The previous fear, helplessness, and direction lessness are no longer there. We know how to work from home, we know who to call to get oxygen, we know to stand by our neighbors in danger.
So, history may not repeat itself, but it can be faced with dignity—if we learn, understand, and correct our mistakes. Corona may be back, but this time we are more aware, more sensitive than ever before.
