Almost two months ago I went to my official doctor for a regular checkup. After seeing the report he very naturally said that I need to reduce sugar completely. At first I didn't pay much attention to it because milk tea is an integral part of my day and that tea means four spoons of sugar. At least 6-7 cups a day. Apart from that I have a habit of eating two spoons of sugar at the end of meals. In fact it was a normal habit not only for me but also for our entire family. I never thought that it could cause any harm. And using sugar in food is a habit of Asians.
But that day when the report revealed the accumulation of fat in the liver the doctor slowly explained that this problem did not develop suddenly. The body has reached this state due to the excess sugar accumulated over the years. The interesting thing is that he never once said to stop sugar completely he only said to control it. Just like in the case of alcohol it is not forbidden, but limited.
That's when I realized that sugar is actually a very silent enemy. It does not make you sick immediately it does not cause pain nor does it give any warning signs. But it starts to harm you inside. The beginning of reducing sugar was not easy. For the first few days I did not like tea I was upset, and restlessness worked. Then I realized that it is not just a taste habit it is a kind of dependence. Which we have accepted very naturally in society.
This problem is not limited to adults. The most terrible effect is on children. Today's children are getting used to sugar from a very young age chocolate, cakes, biscuits, colorful drinks. They do not know how much sugar is in them. We also do not notice many times because they have now become acceptable as normal food in society.
Excess sugar makes children gain weight at a young age reduces attention, creates restlessness. Gradually a lifestyle is created that carries the seeds of future diseases. The most difficult thing is that we ourselves are unknowingly passing these habits on to the next generation. Festivals, entertainment, love sugar is at the center of everything. As if happiness is incomplete without sweets. But there is no stopping anywhere. This excess eventually weakens the entire society physically and mentally.
This experience has taught me that there is no need to ban sugar. What is needed is a little self-control awareness in the family and the right message in the society. Because bans don't stop people, but understanding changes people.
