Happy new day dear friends. It always gives me a great deal of pleasure to be here. The topic of discussion is a very sensitive one and needs some critical thoughts to be able to drive home a point to people or readers who seek a solution or who would like to add knowledge to what is already known.
Mental health is one health area that people do not take with much care and attention. For some of us who live or reside in the most critical or dangerous part of the world, like Africa particularly, sub-Saharan Africa, it is more dangerous if one is not awakened to mental health alertness. This is so because our point of view on general matters has been considered barbaric. Leadership has failed in making life bearable to people and some have resulted in life as a battle for the fittest.
On average, it is worth it to know your environment and understand the nitty-gritty of every pinch of it. As an average human, I have come to understand that one way to live a good life is to be mentally alert, and in doing so, here are some of the strategies I apply.
Great Strategies For A Balanced Mental Health
Healthy Diets: Here is my first strategy. I understand that the best meals are not expensive. Veggies, fruits, and ordinary water when taken in moderate measure help to keep your mental faculties all well-fed and grown. Hence, individuals ought to eat what they can afford. One thing that makes people mentally not balanced is what to eat. To be able to think straight, the stomach infrastructure must be well nurtured. Hence, I try as much as possible to eat to live. That is what matters. It has been observed that children who eat healthily (not junk) tend to become more reasonable in their approach to life issues than those who do not.
Run Away From Drugs The rate at which young people across the are getting intertwined with drug usage and abuse is becoming alarming. I have the trust that when one eats what is needed by the body to function well, there may not be a need to use any drug. As much as possible I scarcely take drugs. There is also the truth that every drug has a side effect. I sort out one or two health challenges using therapies that I have become used to. A typical example is when I have a headache, I know that I have over-stressed myself. All I just do is take enough water and take a nap. That solves that. Taking pain relief, especially without a medical prescription, may be dangerous.
Relaxation: This is one method that can help to balance one's mental health. From time to time, we should take time out to relax. One good example of how I relax is to visit amazing nature places. Where I currently live is a coastal area with a lot of aquatic splendor. As such, I just sit at the bank of the seashores and watch the water flap and roar. There, I forget about work, debt, and every other thing that could stress my state of mind and focus on nature. You too can find what soothes your state of mind.
I Have Stopped Doing Alcohol: There is the saying that "Show me your friends, I will tell you who you are". I did alcohol for so many years, beginning from my higher institution days and found out that it is not just worth it. My reasoning anytime I am drunk or tipsy is wild. I do not like the feedback I get from people who saw me in the state of being drunk. Hence, I had to re-choose my friends and they have to be those who do not do certain stuff, alcohol inclusive.
Here are some of the strategies I adopt to keep my mental health safe and I hope that when you try this method out, you will be better.
