Happy New Year, friends.
The year 2025 is no doubt going to be a brand new year with opportunities if well marshalled would bring in good testimony and perhaps a great deal of achievement. I am optimistic that with the right kind of mindset nothing shall be impossible. In 2024, Hive became a space where only who knows who gets rewarded for writing a piece of article or post. This made me restrict my writing to only one or two communities therefore making me a lazy writer.
I feel that this is one of the most challenging aspects of writing on hive. The discouragement that comes with writing and knowing uproot can be very disturbing and make an author feel not wanted in this space.
In this new year I have decided to look away from people and to focus on my writing. If possible I will write on my blog without bothering any community . At least there are folks who do that and get heavily rewarded for their consistency. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Hive Learners community for encouraging upcoming writers and authors in their community.
Between 2021 and 2023 I wrote everyday on hive and got a lot of engagement. I was so encouraged that I didn't want to stop but suddenly in 2024 out of what I cannot deduce the engagement dropped some of my friends and colleagues complained of the same issue. Once again it is important to note that a few communities reward writers and authors for your input but the whole lot are selective in persons whose works are to be upvoted.
My 2025 Focus on Hive
I made a promise to myself that in this year 2025 I will not allow anything or anybody to distract me from my goal. I will spend most of my time writing African folklore and stories from ancient time of African heritage and this I will do without looking at who will reward me or not. I just want to be intentional and satisfy my inner self as a writer.
Since Hive Learners has been my major support for the past year 2024 I will give concentration to the community to get my little reward which I appreciate a lot. Anytime there's no topic to write on in that community I will focus on my blog where I have decided to bring up stories in parts.
One of my major mentors in writing has been Chinua Achebe. I will focus on his style of writing to make my readers stay glued to my page and blog. This is my first plan for the year as a writer of the Hive blockchain.
Commenting Is A Great Virtue
Having noticed recently that there's a reward for great commenting, I have decided that I will comment more on people's posts for several reasons. I understand that drawing attention to my blog will help a great deal.
Commenting also goes a long way in helping you make a new group of friends who will also want to stick around when you post. This is my strategy for getting rewards and making new friends on the hive blockchain.
