It’s sad that most people are in jail today because they couldn’t keep their mouth shut and that landed them in trouble. Don’t get me wrong, it’s okay to talk. I mean, in a world where everyone loves gist and petty gossip, you’re bound to have a huge record of speech each day from all over the word. As much as we are meant to use our mouths to talk, our mouth also needs a break sometimes so our brain can process some stuff. I’ve always said that the people who are very smart and mature are people that live in silence.
People living in noisy places always have their mind occupied with noise which is very bad for them but sometimes situations are very tight. Most of us Africans don’t believe in meditation and all those stuff. I remember telling a friend to reflect over his actions and you won’t believe the person laughed at the thought of it. I mean, I totally understand where they’re coming from but you’d be surprised what reflection and meditation can do for you.
I’ve always been an overthinker, which means my mind is always preoccupied with something. And I’m the kind of person who reflects over every little thing. Let’s say I step out to work or an event, meet people and all and then I get back home. Once I’m home,my brain subconsciously starts to process everything thing right from when I stepped out from the house, to when I met people, what was said, facial expressions that were made and everything in between. And honestly, there’s always something to discover when you look at things from another perspective.

This has grown to become a thing for me to the extent that my mind just goes into that mode when I get home- I live in a very quiet place and that helps a lot because I get to have peace of mind for my body to relax and all. Reflection to me, has coming a second eye for me because I get to recall everything that went wrong and make sure to make things right. I might have offended people with my words or actions while I was on and about my day but only people who pay keen attention will notice little tiny details.
If I’m to be honest, everyone deserves a brain like mine or the change to meditate and reflect over their day and actions. It really helps a lot especially with your personal development and your interaction with others.
