Honestly when I saw that video, I liked it and wished I could double like it because just by doing what she did, she deserved whatever she wanted be not everyone would go to this length to actually achieve what they want. To me, that’s audacity. Do the things that leave people wondering if you’re crazy, but that craziness would get you what you want and those calling you crazy will only realize it after it’s all said and done.
The average Ghanaian youth today is timid. I used to be timid at some point even with my kind of upbringing. I wasn’t brought up to be a child that isn’t outspoken. My parents made sure to put me around the right crowd and that alone build my confidence ten folds. I consider myself a very outspoken person even though I can sometimes choose to be in my lane. For most people, confidence comes differently. We had those who are born confident and those who have to learn how to be confident.
I’d like to believe that when people born with audacity and confidence at some point in their lives have to learn to be confident because there’s always an iota of doubts at the back of peoples minds and that’s what kills our spirits. The first time I walked up on a stage to talk,l thought it was going to be a disaster but someone believed in my and that trust in me made me go up there and do what I had to do like it was no ones business. Confidence has to do with believing in yourself and your abilities. That is the starting point.
Once you build that mindset that you can do and achieve whatever you put your mind to, the rest is just child’s play. The mind is the most valuable thing a human being can have because what you feed your mind is what you become. Everyone starts a new job with some level of self doubt, what keeps them is their believe that they deserve to be there because they’ve earned it.
People walk into interviews where they know they don’t meet the qualifications, but their aura and audacity gets them the job leaving those with the qualifications behind just because they constantly keep doubting themselves. I’d say the key to this confidence thing is your mind. Feed your mind with good things and it won’t let you down. Let your mind know you’re what ever you think you are, believe it, live it and stand by it. The rest would be all about placing the pieces of the puzzle together.
Once again, remember the world if for the bold and audacious. Do away with the self doubt, the comparisons and the shyness. You need to take what you want with your two hands because it’s not going to be handed to you on a silver platter.
