Holiday is always a good time to unwind and relax, relieving ourselves of all the stress associated with our everyday work as life demands.
I am the type that loves observing holidays very well, making the best memories of them, especially with my family, but this upcoming holiday, during the long vacation around July this year, I am planning something a little bit different from my usual holiday experience. It's going to be a solo trip of sorts to Jos, Plateau State.
Why a solo trip, you may ask, considering that I have 3 kids who are not all totally grown up? Sometimes, I feel that there's a need for me to take a little break from my usual responsibilities, the daily demands of motherhood duties including my everyday routine, and go reconnect with myself and some family I haven't seen for a very long time. I feel like seizing the opportunity to give myself a little bit of self-care where I will have quality time to relax and explore some nice spots like the tourist areas, Bot Cruise, and other nice places I have heard much about in Jos.
Plateau State is a place with unique weather, almost like someone in a mini United Kingdom, lol, and I can't wait to have a unique experience with it on this, my upcoming holiday. Since last year December, I made the decision to travel alone for a one-week holiday to relax a bit in my brother's house over there at Jos and to connect with him and his family as well. The plan has long been laid out with my brother and his wife, and they can't wait to behold my face. According to my brother's wife, Jos has a good museum center, and it promises to be fun with our tour over there.
Now I am already anticipating the pictures I will gather at the museum as a blogger. 😃. She also mentioned hiking, oh boy!...lol, and a beautiful resort center, and I am really excited already for the upcoming experience. It's not totally a solo holiday oo, but not just with my kids this time. I am sure it will come with lots of fun for me creating long-lasting memories.
My kids are already aware of this holiday, and my husband too, and they have given me their approval. I also have my sister living with me, who would be through with school around that time, so I wouldn't have to worry about who will take care of my kids. I know they will be fine, and technology has made things easier, so connecting with them even through video will be possible. It's even great that there's something called a holiday in this life because at some point, we just feel overwhelmed with responsibilities. Thus, holiday periods give us that avenue to recharge and feel good.
July is just in a few months; the preparation has been exciting. I can't wait to wear my traveling bag and visit the new environment, creating nice memories.
Sometimes, a break is just needed. I will see how it goes.
