To abort or not is a vast topic with diverse opinions from different people. However, I will share my honest take on this subject as the prompt demands.
Being a woman, I understand the feeling of having an unplanned pregnancy. Sometimes, a mom will be nursing a three-month-old baby and suddenly discover that she is already pregnant with another. Sometimes, single ladies playing their games get trapped with unwanted pregnancy, and the question of whether to abort or not emanates.
There are varieties of reasons why people opt for abortions, and for whatsoever reason, abortion is evil. Abortion means taking away life, whether you like it or not. See, it doesn't matter whether you say that after all, it's still blood. This is a common word we use to deceive ourselves. The blood is turning into a fetus, right? And you know it; you know the end product of that blood you want to waste, which is a living being.
Let's be more practical here. You decide to plant corn, and just when the seed is about to sprout, you decide again to uproot it so it doesn't grow to germinate fruits. The intention was to stop the fruit, so you uprooted it because you are aware that leaving it means expecting the fruit during the harvest. So leaving the blood formation will also turn out to be a living being in 9 months' time, so what are we saying? Abortion is abortion regardless of how we choose to paint it; it's simply evil.
If you are not ready to take responsibility for a child, maybe because you are poor or emotionally unstable or whatever, then prevent the pregnancy, simple.
Nowadays married couples are the most people patronizing abortion, all in the name of child spacing, or they aren't ready when you can simply prevent the pregnancy or accept your mistake in good faith. Even if you wake me up in my dream, I will stand by my opinion that abortion is bad; don't take a life that you can't create.
Think of it in another dimension; some great people today were products of unplanned pregnancies, but their parents chose to keep them. My uncle, a medical doctor practicing outside the country, is a typical example. What if my grandma decided to abort him back then? And many other people like that. Taking away life is what abortion means, and it's evil, sincerely.
Again, the question of if fathers should have a say when their partners decide to get an abortion is not even negotiable. Even though the woman bears the whole physical risk and medical procedures, a case like this should be on mutual agreement. After all, the pregnancy didn't come from the air; someone was responsible, someone owns the sperm. Whatever the case, mutual agreement is the goal.
In a nutshell, my opinion is simple: don't take a life you can't create. I will never support abortion except in a rape case.
