Every business or job has different work tools, whether it's a large or small type of business or job; otherwise, seeing the functionality of the business wouldn't be possible.
Most of these tools make our work faster, smoother, and easier and also increase the production rate while saving our time as well. I am in the manufacturing business, pure water production to be precise, and so far into this business, I realized that having the right tools will determine if the business will run smoothly or have hiccups in between.
There are some little tools as small as they are, but if I find them wanting ,I will see myself running around during production; however, there is a particular tool in my business whose absence will greatly affect my production, and that is the sealing and packaging machine.
In fact, without it, there will not be possible production that very day. I remember the day this machine had issues and the whole job was halted for two days. Our driver was impatiently waiting for water, his customers calling, all to no avail. If I had other alternatives, I would have used them while waiting for the engineer to repair it.
For this water production business, these machines do a lot; they filter the treated water into nylon rolls, fill them with the right quantity, seal them properly, and cut them into neat sachets ready for supply. It also has a sterilizer to ensure the water is safe for drinking. Obviously, in the absence of this machine, my water production business will be impossible because I can't think of manually sealing the water even though I heard people did it in the past.
How can I measure the NAFDAC-recommended size? How can I filter the water and sterilize it properly manually ? In fact, I can't think of passing through such stress even if it's possible. Besides, it could take me three days or more just to get a quantity needed to be sold for one day. This tool was already structured in a way to make production seamless while taking care of the hygienic measures, and I am sure that manually doing all of that can't give the good hygiene practice required, which is highly vital for water production.
From what I have explained above, it's impossible for me to do work without this tool. The whole process needed for water production is built around this tool, even though there are many other supporting tools like the treatment part, generator, etc., but you see this sealing and packaging machine; it is a must-have available tool. It's one important tool that makes the bussiness possible.
I am yet to see a good and safe alternative tool for this business, and so anything in my power I can do to ensure it doesn't get damaged easily, I do that immediately, like the maintenance routine, although the operator handling it will always use it as it pleases him; at times he forgets to turn it off after production, but then I am striving to protect it by all means to avoid being stranded whenever I am set for production; if not, production will drop drastically, and disappointing customers isn't healthy for such a competitive business.
Overall, I have learned to appreciate every single tool I use for my business, whether big or small, because the absence of any one will either stop my business or stress me before I find an alternative.
