It's natural for humans to fall sick from time to time, but adhering to some common health tips can help reduce how often we fall sick. Imagine ignoring your health and the little things you can do in order to stay healthy, and at the end of the day, you end up spending a lot to get treated. This is why our health should be our top priority, no matter how busy we can be. After all, no one can be productive if he or she is not healthy enough.
Do you know that you can reduce your hospital trips just by practicing healthy living? Some people are disciplined enough to embrace some health tips that help improve their health. There are some common health practices that people overlook, and yet it's very important that we don't ignore them because they can be so risky to our health. For this contest, I am to discuss one health tip, shall we? ...
Regular hand washing - a common health tip that people overlook. The importance of it and the risks of not observing the practice.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization emphasized the importance of regular hand washing as a means of combating the infection. Fortunately, some people have embraced this nice practice, and it has become part of us since then. Unfortunately, some people have stopped washing their hands regularly or use hand sanitizers, especially when they return from work. They can easily pick up bread or any snacks and start eating, forgetting that germs are still in existence.
We carry germs always, and these germs cannot be seen with our naked eyes but through the use of a microscope. Illness is caused by this germ and bacteria that we encounter every day, and it's important to prevent those illnesses. It's impossible to think we are free from them unless we take measures, especially when we have to board public transportation, take change from market women and conductors. Those touching of money with our hands and touching different objects are direct ways of contracting bacteria 🦠 and how bad for us to put edible things in our mouth using the same hand without washing them.
Have you also wondered why children between the ages of 1 and 5 usually suffer from infections more often? It's because they always carry whatever they see into their mouth and also suck their hands, whether dirty or not, and for a child with low immunity, contracting illness through this means is easy.
As much as we know that bacteria exist, I doubt if many people embrace regular hand washing as well as the fruits and veggies we consume raw. However, ignoring this practice poses a risk to our health. The typhoid fever we experience sometimes is a result of germs and bacteria. Do you sometimes consume your fruits and vegetables without washing them? We have been falling sick because of these little things we ignore. Every science student will educate you better on how these germs work faster than we imagine, and to maintain a healthy lifestyle, it's important not to ignore regular washing of our hands prior to eating or touching the sensitive parts of our body in order to prevent illness.
