One of the best ways to make others happy is by giving them a helping hand in times of their needs. Letting someone know that he or she has your support will surely put smiles on their faces and happiness in their heart(Engaging in voluntary Services has proved to be a great way of achieving that).
Voluntary Services are tasks you do by dedicating not only your time but also your skill, passion, efforts, and showing love to people, expecting no compensation in return. There is a lot of work you can volunteer to do like: assisting the aged, the poor, the needy as well as the handicapped with their necessities; food, shelter, clothing, etc. Understanding and caring for them will also go a long way in making them happy. By doing this, you are upgrading your social life and building a good reputation for yourself, and not only that, God's blessings follow. In the process of helping others, you " might" get to meet a lot of people, have connections and in most cases, find a marriage partner or get to travel around the world just because of that " pure heart" service you rendered.
I've come to know that volunteering to lend a helping hand makes an admirable impact on the lives of others. Here are voluntary works I went for..................
Helping the aged:
Before I got married, there is this old man who lives alone in his house. He had 5 children but lost 3 to death. The remaining two women left were married but suffers hardship in their husband's houses. The old man even with his weak bones still struggles to farm in his compound to make life ends. His house and clothes are always dirty. Seeing him struggle to cook touched me one faithful day and so I volunteered to be assisting him the much I can. I would help him to weed his farm and harvest any riped crops, cook for him, wash his dirty clothes times and sweep his house. Not long time I started, two more people joined me, wow...I was happy to see those volunteers as well. We later shared the job to be rotating among us instead of going daily to the man's house. When his two children noticed that, during their visit, they were so happy π and prayed for us. The old man too will always pray for us each day and that means a lot to me. The man has died now but I am happy to have contributed to putting a little smile on his face.
Training the little Children:
This is another volunteering work I went for before I got married. In my church, the children usually have separate places of worship. They don't mix with the adult, this is to ensure that they receive teachings within their level. I worked as one of the children's teachers in the church for 6 years, within that period, I was privileged to visit JOS(a state in Nigeria) for the first time in my life when the church sent us for training. There, I met new people who in one way or the other have influenced my life positively. The services I render to the children made me more conscious of the way I live my life. You can't tell a child not to tell lies and tomorrow, the same child sees you telling lies. This was an added advantage to my Christian life. Besides that, I gained popularity in the church to the extent that some church members were recommending suitors for meππ, but funny enough, I didn't marry any of the recommended suitors. To date in my home church, I still have a unique value over there. The last time I visited the church, oh my God π€, the warm welcome and treat threw me off balance out of joy π but it's all for good.
Health service:
This particular one is the one I found recently through the internet. After going through the work needed for the volunteers, I applied, knowing fully well that there is no money attached. I wish to contribute to my society via this means π. As if they knew that I have this question to answer, yesterday afternoon, I got this notification from themπππ
This service is for birth registrations in some health centers and once the process is complete, I will be glad to offer a helping hand π.
