Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. Every new year is worth celebrating. It is not easy to be alive from January to December, which makes every new year worth celebrating.
Pardon my manners, and happy New Year! It's kind of a tradition in Nigeria that we will continue to wish each other a happy new year until the first quarter of the year. My new year started very well. I stayed awake all night waiting to usher in the new year.
At exactly 12 a.m., we all shouted and ushered in the new year and wished each other a happy new year. Praying unto God to grant us our heart's desires in this new year, at 3 a.m. we all departed to our various houses. On reaching the house, I rushed into bed to catch some sleep while my mom and sisters started cooking almost immediately.
I've been priviledged to sleep while they cook; at this point, I thanked God that I am a guy. I woke up at around 7 a.m., and food was ready. I rushed to brush my teeth as I attacked the chevon again, but this time around with caution because I had learned from my last encounter.
During the Christmas season, I ate chevon, and my Christmas celebration ended with a running stomach; I almost broke down. I managed to get back on my feet after two days, but I don't want to get that feeling again, so I ate with caution this time around.
I ate rice and stew to my satisfaction before I started preparing for church service, and I did not have a place to go after church. The service was taking so long. It started at 10 a.m., and by 1 p.m., we were still in church and the service was still going. Staying so long in church was not my thing; I got really tired, but I just had to stay till dismissal.
Finally, church closed, and my cousins and siblings all assembled outside to take pictures together so we could keep our memories. We had not seen each other in a very long time. Christmas and New Year's celebrations brought us together after so many years. My plan was to sleep all day long, but meeting my cousins at church changed the plan.
picture is mine.
From church, we moved to one of my cousin's houses to eat. We moved from one house to another until we were filled. As for me, I got so filled I couldn't breathe properly and needed to rest or chew gum to aid the digestion of everything I had consumed. We rested a while in my house, and at around 7 p.m. We headed to a bar nearby. Everyone told the barman what they wanted to eat and drink. We were at the bar until 10 p.m.
My new year started really well, and I pray and hope it continues with so much fun and lots of merriment. I celebrated the new year even though I had no plans of doing so.
Thanks for reading my post.
