Hello, everyone.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. We were all raised differently and come from different families, which makes us all unique in different ways. The Christmas celebration is here again, and we all have different ways of celebrating Christmas in our various homes. It all depends on the family where we come from and what Christmas stands for in your family.

We have different traditions that must take place in our families every Christmas. Even as the country is suffering from a financial crisis, it does not stop the tradition from being observed. Every family has that tradition that financial status does not affect; even if it means for my parents to go out of their way to make it happen, they will have to do it, and it has become a part of us, and when we start our own family, we are definitely going to keep doing it.
In my family during the festive season, a lot of things are a must: cooking and sharing with everyone, even strangers. On this day, we spread love, no matter the situation. My mom cooks, and my dad takes the food prepared to an orphanage nearby, or the Reverend Father comes to pick it up. This is a tradition they started off years ago, and we thought they'd do it for just a year or two, but during the festive season, the orphanage nearby is added to their budget every year. When they try to make our Christmas a memorable one, they carry the orphanage along in every little way that they can.
Last year they spent their Christmas in the village, but that still did not stop them from celebrating Christmas with the orphans. They sent money to the Reverend sister to help with the celebration of Christmas for the kids. They started this years back, and both my parents are orphans too, so it's another reason why they cannot celebrate Christmas without extending a helping hand to the orphans.
Another tradition is the Thanksgiving service held on Christmas day every year. They say it is used to renew their covenant with God for protection since they don't have any gods they worship. They run to the almighty for protection, and it has been working for us all. No matter how tough and rough the year might be, we still see the end of the year complete family and in good health. Even my dad, who's a military man and is hardly around during this season because of work, always comes back home with testimonies.
The Christmas Day Thanksgiving is a tradition that must be held. It started with my mom's family house, and she introduced it to her own home. On this day, we thank God for his protection throughout the year, committing the coming year to his hands again. A goat is used for this Thanksgiving. Before the deal day, my dad purchases a good looking and healthy goat for the Thanksgiving, and if he won't be available, he has a friend who supplies goats, so he just puts a call across. We all have different traditions that hold during the festive season and will live on for generations to come.
Thanks for reading my post.
