Hello, everyone.
designed using canva.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. My mom always says that if something good does not make you famous, something bad will. During my school days, both the good and the bad made me famous and known to almost all the other students.
I was very shy during my high school days; I hated getting noticed by teachers and even fellow students, but they kept noticing me through my grades, and sometimes they'd be like, "You're always quiet in class; you don't answer questions, but your grades are so good."
I kept avoiding getting noticed until I was promoted to SS1, and a new vice principal has just been posted to my school. It was his duty to provide what's called a "signing book" to all the classes (every teacher that comes to teach signs on the book to show they did not miss their time to teach).
He provided for all the classes, and when we got to ours, we had no class representative or prefect. Then, as the previous post was dropped for personal reasons, he stepped in, and the whole class greeted him, and he asked about our class representative or prefect, but we had none. Without even carrying out an election like we always do, this man just appointed me a class prefect, and the whole class was in support as everyone was dodging the responsibilities that come with being a class prefect.
Even teachers I never wanted to talk to became so fond of me that it was my duty to remind every teacher that it was time for them to be in my class. Some of them fail to come but give me their notes to pass along to my classmates. Copying notes on a blackboard was an issue at first, but I later got used to it and enjoyed doing so.
Being a class prefect is one thing that made me so popular in school; both students and teachers knew me as a hardworking class prefect who didn't take his position as a class prefect for granted.
Those who attended boarding school know the implications of sneaking out of the school premises. I was in my hostel one Sunday afternoon when my roommate stepped in and asked me to follow him and some friends to go and get food from a fast food restaurant, and those that are into gambling will be opportune to book their games as well.
My first day being part of them, we were caught on our way back; I ran like hell, but at the end of the day, I heard a list of all involved was compiled. On Wednesday, we were called out before the whole during school during assemy and placed on a two-week suspension. After I resumed, I was known as the class prefect who had been placed on suspension.
Both the good and bad made me popular in high school; I was known by both staff and fellow students. Getting famous helped me come out of my shell, and I was able to defeat shyness.
Thanks for reading.
