Hello, everyone.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. We are all equal, but we were made to believe that we are not. A lot of things gave people the mentality that some people are superior while others are inferior.
Equality can simply be seen as a situation where everyone gets equal treatment, be it male or female, black or white; no one is treated better than the other. Once this is observed, then there is equality.
In our society today, I see people talk about gender equality, where they want women to be treated equally with men. Women are really fighting for gender equality, but they are still allowed to get away with crimes a man will never get away with. I read a story on Twitter where a woman assaulted a young boy but was allowed to get away with it. If a man does the same thing, he's never coming out of that without having to face the consequences.
Racism is another act of treating people unfairly because their skin color varies (black, white, Asian). We are all equal, as no one was born with four arms or four legs, nor was anyone born with four eyes, nor was anyone born with two tongues. Color does not define us or make us less of a human being. Nobody is born racist; it's something we were made to believe or influenced to act on.
We all should be treated equally no matter where we find ourselves; maybe on another continent we should be given the same treatment as the people of that country. Racism is another reason the world has not known peace for so many years. If we are all treated equally, then we will all live in peace, and the world will be at peace.
In our society, even the rich are given better treatment compared to the poor. Nothing annoys me more than when the poor give unequal treatment to fellow poor in order to buy favor from the rich. Giving people unequal treatment is a mentality that can be stopped. One just has to practice seeing everyone as a brother or sister, putting aside their differences (color, race, continent, e.t.c.).
There are so many things that make people get treated unequally, and these include:
Gender: There are certain crimes that, if committed by a man, there's no way he is ever going to escape the punishment, but a woman might commit such a crime and get away with it without any consequences.
Racism: This is a major cause of unequal treatment among humans; people are treated so badly because of their skin color. Racism is one of the major reasons why people are treated unequally, despite the fact that we are all equal.
Lack of Love: If we loved one another, then we'd treat each other nicely, forgetting about religion, color, and everything that concerns each other's flaws. We will just be happy after seeing each other because we love ourselves.
Thanks for reading.
