Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. There are jobs that you can maneuver in the case where your tools are not in reach, and then there are some jobs that without your tools, you can do nothing, like you don't have a choice other than to go in search of your tools or in search of a way to get a new one or something to replace your tools. One time I was in a tight corner when I was still staying with my parents. I hid my hoe at the farm the previous day so I wouldn't have to carry it to the farm the next day. My mom saw it and thought I forgot it, and she took it back home. The next day I left the house without a hoe, thinking my hoe was still where I kept it.
I got to the farm and could not find my hoe; since the farmland was very far from the house, going back home meant I would have to come back another time because I could not go home and then come back to the farm that day. I was forced to improvise; I used my hands to uproot the grasses I was supposed to weed. It was not as good as a hoe would have done it, but at least it was better than I met it. In case your tools are not reachable, improvising can help solve the problem, even though it is not as good as your tool would have been, and then there are jobs that without your tools you can do nothing about; there is no improvising; it is either you get your tool or nothing, no two ways about it.
In my job as an interior designer I use a lot of tools, which are mostly brushes, cutters, scrapers, Plaster of Paris (POP), and paint rollers. There are some jobs that if you forget a tool for them at home, you can actually improvise. Like one time we forgot the scraper at home and went to the site we were working on; we were able to get a kitchen knife and used it in place of the scraper. On this job, depending on the work at hand, improvising can happen, and then there are some jobs that, without the right tools, you will have no progress at all. Like without the right tools your work is put on hold until the right tools arrive.
One time I went for a painting job, and the roller decided to spoil that day since it was to paint the entire room white. I went with just one roller only to get there and the roller decided to get bad. My work was put on hold, and I had to change back into my nice clothes so I could go and buy a new paint roller since going back home was not even an option. I bought a new roller, and then the job continued. As an interior designer, the importance of my tools completely depends on the job I am working on; some are extremely important, and I cannot do without them, while some can be temporarily replaced if they are not reachable at the moment.
