Greetings, everyone!
Growth requires the humility to learn, the courage to unlearn, and the wisdom to relearn. Without these simple components, you cannot go far in life; you may remain stuck at one point. As technology continues to change, we also need to change our mentality and the way we perceive things. Life becomes easier to navigate when we learn, unlearn, and relearn new things about life as a whole.

These components apply to every aspect of life. The more we unlearn outdated ideas, the more we become digitally aware and stay current with the modern world. This helps us not to be caught unaware of important knowledge or information. Instead, we remain ready and updated, able to share new information with others.
However, I have learned something important from people. Looking down on others is not a good idea. No matter how a person appears today, things can get better in the future. Let me share a scenario that happened in my family. I have six siblings, four girls and two boys, and I am the first child. My brothers used to misbehave so much that I sometimes wondered if they would ever succeed in life. As they grew older, my first brother left home for Lagos to pursue tailoring. He started as an apprentice and humbly grew in the business until he mastered the craft. Eventually, he started working independently, and people began recommending him because of the excellent work he did. Today, he is doing very well, sewing different types of men’s outfits and earning good money. Sometimes, he even sends me money.
Looking back now, I remember how I once doubted whether he would succeed in life. He was stubborn, fought often, and caused many problems in the family. But I thank God for how things turned out. Today, he is a blessing to our family.
The same thing happened with my second brother. He loved playing football and was also quite stubborn. My brothers were not interested in reading or studying, and I wondered how they would pass their examinations. But God is wonderful. Today, my second brother owns his own business and trains young people in the skills he has acquired. He is well paid and currently works in another country, earning a good income.
Both of them once struggled to speak English fluently, but today they speak confidently and correctly because of the exposure they gained through their work experiences and the people they met along the way. Indeed, they have learned, unlearned, and relearned many things over the years. I can proudly say that I am proud of them, and they are proud of themselves too because of how far they have come. Truly, growth requires humility to learn and develop into the person you aspire to be.
It is important to learn, unlearn, and relearn so we can adapt to the changing realities of Nigeria and the world at large.
This experience has taught me never to look down on people because of their present situations. Things can change at any time, on any day, at the appointed time.
