Greetings, everyone!
Many things are bringing joy to my heart right now. First, my NYSC will come to an end on the 31st of March, this month, and I am super excited about how far God has brought me. Since last year, I have been in the North, and it is my first time being here without any relatives or my parents around me.
I left my home for a strange land to serve my country, and I obeyed the call. I give God all the glory for the strength and wisdom that have sustained me throughout my stay in Kaduna State. It is a great joy that I am completing this service year with good health, a sound mind, and meaningful relationships.
I have built good relationships at my PPA, NCCF, church, community, CDS, and everywhere I go. I always try to establish good relationships with people.
Another beautiful part of this journey is that during my service year, I learned many things I did not know before coming for service. There has been a shift in my life and a clearer understanding of my purpose.
I studied Linguistics at the university, but during my service, I realized that many things have changed. I served in NCCF as the Assistant General Secretary under the Administrative Office, where I handled documents and learned how to manage confidential information.
At my PPA, I also served as a clerk in the office, handling administrative responsibilities. Because of these experiences, I decided to enroll in a Project Management class to gain more knowledge about project execution and management.
However, as I started the class, I realized that Project Management is very broad. In fact, it is even broader than Human Resource Management in many aspects. Before enrolling in Project Management, I had also started a Virtual Assistant class.
Interestingly, at my PPA, I am the first corps member to serve in the Central Registry Unit at the headquarters of the Air Force Institute of Technology.
How to Sustain This Joy
With all these experiences and relationships, and by the grace of God, I believe I can sustain this joy by continuing to invest in myself and by constantly learning and improving the skills I have acquired. My goal is to secure a good job and build another source of income that will sustain my growth and happiness. And of course, in God's time, marriage will also add to the overflow of joy and celebration. Above all, I will keep learning every day, discovering myself, and gaining more wisdom through different skills and experiences.
Another part of my happiness is seeing my family bonding more, my parents living a healthy lifestyle, and my siblings doing well. It is always a thing of joy for me. Even though I am far away and cannot see their faces, hearing their voices tells me that they are healthy and doing well.
Today, the 11th day of March 2026, happens to be my younger brother's birthday. With life, proper care of the body, and good character, a person's well-being can be sustained.
I am very excited that my brother is alive to celebrate his birthday and that he is healthy. My family is not remembering his birthday at the graveside or in the hospital. Instead, he is on his feet, celebrating another year of life with a grateful heart.
If you check my WhatsApp status, you will see his pictures there.
More joy, unexplainable joy, is still coming.
