For some time now, I’ve actually been thinking about writing on this topic and seeing how it became the most voted topic on today’s hangout at Hive Learners, I’ve decided to talk about it.
Looking back at where I was five years ago and where I am now, all I can say is that a lot of things has changed and most part of that change has been positive change. Five years ago, I was just a young lad with no skill and almost no vision. I just handled life the way it came at me. I wasn’t making my own moves, nothing at all.
But so far so good, I’ve really grown positively that even my parent and my siblings now see it. I’ve grown into a man with clear plans for my future. No doubt my dad had a large impact in the way I do things now. The planning and executing of everything has always been all thanks to my dad.
The man made sure he trained us to become good men who wouldn’t bring shame to the family’s name. Having four male kids would seem like a really tough task for most men but not my dad. The man handled everything with his cane beside him, always ready to floor the demon out of us whenever we were going astray.
What I’m trying to say is that most of the steps I took to ensure my growth were steps already taken by my father and he made sure to tell us the mistakes that we would most probably face on the road and how to avoid them.
He also made us understand that hard work and consistency will contribute a lot to our growth because without the both of them, nothing We do would work out. I know it can only get better from here because I will keep on working hard and doing the right thing while ensuring that I don’t rub my family’s name in the process. It’s honest work or nothing.
Consistency really pays, we all just have to pick one thing and focus on it. No matter what it is, it will pay during the long run.
Just never give up.
