For the first time in a really long time, I decided to try something new. I had decided to not only travel by night, but also, rather than travel in a minibus, I had paid for the type of vehicle known as the luxurious bus. The vehicle is a very long van with probably more than forty seats in it.
I had taken this decision for two reasons, the first being because the fare was cheaper compared to that of the minibus and the second reason being because I wanted to see if I could permanently make a switch from daytime travel to nighttime travel. The reason is that when you travel at night, you get to your destination in the morning and easily navigate your way home, unlike when you travel during the day and get to your destination at night.
Well, after spending the entire night on the road, I learned some new things about myself, the first being that I don't like traveling with a crowd. There was too much commotion in the vehicle, and it just felt like everyone was talking all at once, and that irritated me because when I travel, I mostly enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with it.
Another reason why I just might never make the mistake of traveling by night anymore is the vehicle. You see, because we had to make use of that long vehicle for more than 40 people, it meant the luggage was also twice as much because a lot of people came with more than two bags.
And yes, I know that shouldn't be a problem because it's not like we're carrying the luggage on our head; it became a problem for me every time I had to walk down that bus to watch my bag whenever someone was stepping off the bus. I had to do this because there have been stories and reports of how people get their bags stolen or mistakenly taken by another passenger when getting off the bus, so at every stop that we got to, the driver would advise all of us to go watch our bags and make sure someone else wasn't taking them.
After I had done that for the fifth time that night, I decided that this might be the last time I would put myself through this, because in a minibus, you don't have to climb a flight of stairs just to get down from a vehicle; rather, you could look from your window and clearly see the bags being taken by the other people.
Personally, the only upside to traveling at night is the price and also the fact that you get to arrive in the morning, especially when you're going to an area that you aren't familiar with. Aside from that, the entire journey was nothing but stressful for me, which most of my journeys usually are not.
