I will be talking about the
THE IKORO FESTIVAL IN IGBO LAND.
Culture is a way of life of different people. In my tribe (igbo) the Ikoro Festival is one unique festival.
In my country (Nigeria), i hail from Abia state(East) from Ukwa-west L.G.A.
This festival holds every 8years.
In this festival, different age grades(male and females) comes to display different dances.
Age grades wear different attire from other Age grades for easy recognition.

This is the traditional musical drum. It is beaten to produce music so the Age grades can dance
If a king, chief or any well known person in the village dies, in the year which the festival is suppose to take place, the festival will not hold that year.And if a king dies and has not been buried still the year when the festival is suppose to take place, the festival will be shifted still he or she is buried.
Each day, each age grade will display their own dance and on the final day all age grade will dance with judge(wrapper).
WHAT MAKES THE FESTIVAL UNIQUE
Unlike other festivals in Igbo land like the New yam festival and wrestling which is held every year, the Ikoro festival is held every 8years which makes is unique.
Any year which it is celebrated, the villagers wait with so much anticipation.
WHY DO YOU ENJOY IT
I enjoy it so much any year it is celebrated.
It is fun seeing your Age grades and childhood friends still alive and coming together to celebrate this festival.
It also bring togetherness among different age grades.
