For me cooking is like love....... and there is a saying- "people who give you their food give you their heart".
I love to make different dishes for my family. And they also enjoy to have it when it's Home Made with love, hygiene and care.
So In my today's blog I want to share a recipe of Stuffed pointed gourd with potatoes.
There are many variations of stuffed pointed gourd as we go place to place, the stuffing, the tastes , the masalas, the flavour everything will change. Like at some places it is prepared by stuffing with dry spices, some will stuff with onions and gramflour, some will make it with coconut and grated cottage cheese, where some will make it by the stuffing of boiled spicy potatoes...
So today, I am making these pointed gourd with the stuffing of potatoes. Yes! Gonna love the taste of this variation which is my mother's recipe!
So let's see the ingredients
1.pointed gourd-5 to 6
2.boiled potatoes- 2 cups
3.onions- half cup
4.green chili-½tbspn
5.cumin seeds-½tbspn
6.ginger- grated ½tbspn
7.red chili powder-1 tbspoon
8.mustard oil- 2 tbspn
9.Sabji masala-1tbspn
10.coriander power- ½ tbspn
11.salt- according to the taste
12.dry mango powder-½ tbspn
13.bay leaf-1
14.curry leaves-3
15.gramflour-2 tbspn.
METHOD
1.wash the pointed gourd well
2.remove the outer skin and its inner seed portions with the help of spoon .
3.now boil the pointed gourd for 10 mins or 1 whistle.
4.now boil potatoes and peel it and mash it.
5.add mustard oil in a pan and heat the oil.
6.put bay leaf, curry leaves, green chili and cumin seeds. Let it splutter.
7.then add pointed gourd inner seed portions. And stir it.
8.now add chopped onions. Saute it for 2 mins then and mashed potatoes.
9.add coriander powder, red chili powder, salt, sabji masala, dry mango powder.
10.mix it well and off the flame.
11.now put the filling inside the pointed gourd as shown in the pic.
12.press it gentle while putting stuffings.
13.heat a pan and put some oil.
14.Now place all the Stuffed pointed gourd.
15.sprinkle some salt from top. Add spices like coriander powder, redchili powder and garam masala.
16.cook for 5 to 8 mins till it become golden in color.
17.now lastly add some roasted gramflour and mix it gently.
18.cook for another 5mins and is done.
19.now assemble and serve Stuffed pointed gourd with some hot Chapatis/ plain rice and lentils.
