January to May has been a wonderful ride all through. When the year started, I had a positive mindset, especially knowing that I would be relocating to a different state and town for my youth service.
Even though things were kind of choked up for me with relocation process, packing my stuff, renting an apartment, cleaning and all of that, it wasn't easy, but when I'd finished arranging my room and relaxing, I knew the year would be fun because I decided not to overload myself, especially with worries, but to live that life I have ever wished for; a life without stress. This is why I don't waste time when it comes to resting because I do not want to experience any illness.
God has been faithful that I get to enjoy myself because I am working hard. It got to a point, where my sister had to send in money for our two siblings in the University that would cover their 6 months of feedings, 2 years of house rent, school fees till they graduate and other allowances. When I got the news on our WhatsApp siblings group, I jumped up for joy and wasn't able to express myself.
This means, no one would be disturbing me for money for this or that, knowing our big sister had just settled that part except for the one that would be sent to my Dad every month.
I could say this is one highlight for me because I just couldn't express my happiness over it.
There is another major highlight which happened in March. That was when I travelled to Lagos to see my sister off at the airport. I have been craving a milkshake for a long time. I was able to satisfy the cravings at the Sky Lounge in Ikeja Airport which is a big place in the airport.
The restaurant offers a variety of Nigerian and International Cuisines. It happened that my uncle had just arrived from Florida and was going to another country, he was in the airport waiting for his flight when my sister called him and he directed us to this restaurant. He got a VIP table where we all sat; five of us and he got us our orders and the bills were on him.
I met some Indian and Korean people also in the restaurant and how they were communicating in their Korean language, this got me so excited and it was fun taking a milkshake with this delicious meal that tasted heavenly. The place is so expensive and I know my uncle paid heavily for the orders we took.
Travelling back to my base, I just kept smiling having to enjoy myself at the airport. Aside from that, even with this economy and how people kept complaining, I have been able to enjoy myself in my room, order meals or snacks when I couldn't go out, stock my kitchen with foodstuffs, dashing some out to children around me, it was fun to me.
I also had it in mind to celebrate the children in my neighbourhood on Children's Day and even after planning items to buy for them, I couldn't do that but gave a substantial amount in church to support the children on that day. I was happy to fulfil this goal of mine and also to put smiles on the children's faces. So far, the last six months have been fun and amazing 👏 I want more blessings to come around so I can do more than that.
