Babies are amazing. They are so adorable, cute, and gifts from God to every parent seeking the fruit of the womb. They are a surprise to mankind. They are also the perfect bundle of joy. I love babies, there is no doubt. I love how they look so tiny when they are given birth to. They are lovely creatures and beings. They look so soft and fragile that anyone carrying them would be careful because they are just like an egg that must not fall off their hands.
I adore babies a lot and would always want to lift them up when I see them. They look so charming that one would pray to have a baby as soon as possible. Those little creatures had stayed for nine months in their mother's womb and when they come to earth, they start with their first cry. Any baby who didn't cry at first would be spanked so hard or pinched just to make them feel the pain and cry. If nothing happens, I guess there's something wrong somewhere.
It has been a long time since I carried a baby or even seen one around me. I remember when my mom had our last born in her womb. I was so happy that a baby would be joining the family and I couldn't stop bragging to my friends that once our baby arrives, won't allow anyone to touch him or her. I was in my Junior Secondary School then. My siblings and I were given birth to in a white garment church named Celestial Church of Christ and our last born wasn't an exception. My mom never visited a hospital.
When our little baby was finally given birth, I was excited to see a baby in our midst. I would make sure nobody except my siblings touched her while sending off every other child. It was always a fight among my siblings and me on who would sleep next to our baby or carry her, but mom decided to rotate it for us. When I carry her for some minutes, my siblings would do the same and it was like that every day.
I watched our little baby every day and would sleep beside her while she is covered with a net on the bed. I used to blow her nose and would suck her mouth with my mouth just to feel her saliva and it wasn't irritating to me because why? Babies are sweet, they look so pure and unique. So, it wasn't a problem doing those things for her. Babies babble and would try to communicate with people around them. It was always interesting to see our baby babbling even though we do not understand what she was saying, but we make her feel we heard her and would do whatever she wanted to make her happy.
At some stage, she started crawling and moving around the house. I wanted her to start walking and was always looking forward to when she would start doing that. From crawling to scooting (sliding around on her bottom), she would stand up holding a chair or furniture just to move her body. I was always surprised and many times would signal for her to come which she always did smiling, babbling and giggling. At that time, I would call all the other children to come and see what she was doing and it was always a surprising thing for everyone.
I can't remember how my parents felt when she started walking but I believe it was something amazing then. This is one part where parents feel so happy seeing their fruit taking his or her first step in walking. When babies try this, parents would want to be sure they did that, they would stretch an object for them from a distance to come and have it while the baby would try to stand and walk, laughing and enjoying the moment.
There was a baby in my street whose mother was selling provisions. I fell in love with this little creature because she is the only baby around and it has been a long time since I have seen or carried a baby. I would always visit her at the shop and would play with her. One morning, I went to buy something and I was surprised to see this baby taking a step while she falls back to the ground, she would stand up again and walk. I felt so shocked to see the development.
Her mother also saw me smiling and she smiled back, seeing her baby taking a step one by one. I felt the joy in her mother's heart to see such progress. Gradually, this baby started walking on her own while she plays around. I always get her something anytime I come around and since then, she is always smiling and would run to hug me when she sees me from afar coming. I love this baby and would always pray to have mine someday too.
Babies are fun to be with and taking that first step in walking makes parents happy and joyful in their hearts.
Thanks for your time on my blog.
