What a wonderful year it has been for everyone including myself. It's remaining just 10 days to the end of this year and we welcome the amazing year 2023. I have started making plans since we entered the “ember months”. I have set aside funds to share with my family members, the things to give my younger sister who is the last born because she is the only sister enjoying everything from us.
I have made plans on how the Christmas season would be for me in my hometown even though I am the type of person who loves to stay indoors with my phone and things to do in the house like helping others to cook, staying in my special room, watching movies and of course, Hiving.
This period made many plans change for me in the aspect of the burial ceremony we did some days ago which made me spend some money I intended to dash out as gifts to people in the home. It isn't that I won't be giving something but it won't be as I have planned before.
Every season like this, I plan to travel home and give money to my siblings and cousins who are around. Some things like clothes I do not use again including new ones I bought and shoes are given out to my sister and cousin which I already did when I arrived yesterday.
One of my plans is to help mama prepare a large meal of Jollof Rice and Chicken for her team members as her custom every year. Normally, she loves our big sis cooking the food and since she won't be available this year, I would be getting ready on the 25th of December and 1st of January to cook the food and share with all her team members while we serve the rest among ourselves at home.
Another plan is to celebrate Christmas in our family church which I always enjoy whenever I come home. Their instruments are topnotch that I don't miss such moments, especially the cross over night plus New Year service. Thank God, both seasons fall on Sundays. I could still remember last December, it fell on a Saturday and I only went to church for Christmas and Cross over night and didn't bother going for the New Year but for this period, there's no excuse for not attending all services.
The cross over night service is something I always look forward to at my family church because I love to exhibit my dancing skill to them and I don't shy at all.
My plan also is to give my Dad some cash to celebrate this season. Thank God my sisters and younger brother have given him something, I will give him something little for now because I am being intentional with what I am giving out this year. I need to keep remembering my NYSC service as I do not want to depend on or rely on anyone except God. So, I am being conscious of how I spend and give out.
Enjoying myself this season, I downloaded a lot of movies on Netflix last night to keep myself busy so I don't feel bored in any way since my siblings aren't showing up and I want to make sure I enjoy the moment.
The title of the movies I downloaded are;
- Rugal — 15 Episodes (A Korean movie)
- Dubai Bling — 8 Episodes (My sis recommended to me that it's very interesting)
- Enola Holmes — 1 & 2
- Kalagathalaivan (Indian movie)
- The school for Good and Evil
- John Wick
I noticed that my data subscription for a week was remaining 4 GB and would be expiring today, I had to use it to download all these movies since I don't want to roll over because I am doing a different subscription and it won't be added to the existing one.
So far, I have watched two episodes of the movie, Rugal and it's so interesting. I wanted to keep watching until around 1 am this morning but my eyes were already closing to sleep. I had to give up while I continued tonight because I won't have time during the day as we would be making meals from morning till evening and would also be taking my free time to engage on Hive.
This is how I intend to spend this season with no disturbance or boredom affecting me. Thank God there is stable electricity and also, we have our generator on standby in case of anything. We cannot predict the electricity though. With all these, I am sure this festive season will be a memorable one for me and I will definitely enjoy the season too.
Thanks for your time on my blog.
