I remember sometime back in my primary and secondary school days when i just realised what education was and how important it was for us to go to school and be educated eben tho sometimes i felt discouraged not by the school environment then but basically i had a little difficulty in learning and this was mostly applicable to arithmetics/mathematics.
The simple plus ,minus, division and multiplication signs weren't a problem until we got dipper to indices, logarithm and some other complex calculation that made me see mathematics as an enemy. It was an enemy i couldn't defeat because i knew not how to handle the laws and principles to solve arithmetics and this was a big setback to my academic performance in secondary school.
This psychs made i and my fellow colleagues in the same shoes to dislike any arithmetic tutor in school because you will be highly disciplined and dealt with if you do not acquire knowledge and good grades in the course. This tribulations persisted for a long time until one day when i spoke to myself and encouraged the learner inside me that if he doesn't read his books then he is going to fail his parents and disappoint his community and friends.
I started looking into my math text books and i started mathematics from the very basic part of it and i started with a junior mathematics course text books and i made sure to read, understand, calculate, solve and master every single basic topics in the junior textbooks that is when my brain and minds began to open and so many secrets and ideas in arithmetics became clear and open to me then i realised that arithmetics was actually the most easiest course in school because all you needed to know is how to do it.
Sometimes how you solve certain arithmetic questions and arrive at an answer is always overwhelming and encouraging to do more. I now enjoy arithmetics more than any other course in school.
During the lockdown in the year 2020 due to COVID 19, i organised home lessons for kids to raise some funds for myself and i was happy and impressed to see them do well in arithmetics which i couldn't do when i was like them. Parents also loved my methods and approach i used that made the arithmetic process look very easy and friendly for their kids to understand and learn well. The parents were proud that their kids had a friendly mathematics tutor lile me for their kids and i was very happy. But mind you, assuming they saw my school results and how bad i was in arithmetics back in my secondary school, i am not sure they would have allowed me to lecture their kids and they wont even believe me if i should tell them that 1 + 2 is equal to 3.
But today Arithmetics is my best subject and course because it helps develop the mind and widens the intelligence quotient (IQ) of the brain making you look like you have supernatural powers when you successfully work a particular Question and arrive at it's absolute answer.
