Isn't it a good thing that you can do what you actually desire, talk about it a lot to the right audience as many times as they want to see or hear what yiu have for them and you earn from just doing that. It's cool, to be honest. It might not necessarily be what you actually love to do but you can do it and it earns you money because there is enough traffic to make you cool money.
Monetization of one's social media account is advisable, and I won't discourage anyone who wants to go for that; as long as they have what might interest people and it ideal. It's almost like what we do here on Hive; we write blogs and people, including friends, come to read, upvote, and comment. The difference is that social media allows you to sell whatever you have to sell, you can reach more people with just a post, and you can also run ads to your page. Monetization is a good way to make money.
Content creation became something everyone wanted to do a few years back, and it was because they could tell how much so many people had earned from it. One very good example is X (formerly Twitter), with a premium account, there is no restriction to how much one could earn but it all depends on your engagements, views, etc with other X premium users. Last month, I saw different user's post about their earning from X, and I was shocked to see a guy who had earned $8k+. That was when I found out that there's no limits. All you have to do is do what it takes to get engagements and enough views on every of your posts. There are lots of popular guys that literally just share random opinions, POVs, experiences on X, and Instagram, and they get tons of engagements. They've built their page over time, and a lot of people have known them for what they do.
One thing is certain and has always worked when it comes to engagements, you need to be consistently sharing whatever you have to say or show, that way your audience will come your way and if you're good enough for them, they stick with you. There's a guy called TundeEdnut on Instagram, a very popular Nigerian content creator. All he does is reshare interesting online and put his own caption on it, that's all. He has millions of followers and earns massively on IG. That guy has lost his account about 4 times, and he got back to millions of followers in a week because he is known already.
Cool stuff and money, right ? And we also have those who don't care about the content. They just want the money, and they bring whatsoever content to draw people to their page. TikTok is one of the best examples, so many ill video content being shared, and creators get money. I mean, why would you have to get to extreme length to get money even if it makes you almost less of a human ? Make you feel less valuable? Just for the engagements, views, and money. You see people share very annoying or silly or foolish POVs and opinions on the Internet and you'd be left wondering if these people are actually okay.
One thing I'm certain of is that there are tons of bullshits and foolish things online, too. One has to be careful about what is heard, seen, and believed. Yet, we have amazing guys online, including creatives who show up consistently to give the best content out there. A lot of accounts you could learn a skill, learn experience, life hack, there are countless contents out there to learn from, get entertained also.
