The month of December has always been a great month, it has always been a blessed month for my family and I, the most interesting aspect of this particular month is the fact that december is considered a month of giving, it can also be a month of receiving, it all depends on you and your deed to others in the last couple of months, December is actually a month of being cheerful and loving. This is the only month we get gifted a lot of gifts apart from our birthdays, and there is also this particular saying in the month of december, it goes like this ; we are in the month of love, so it’s time to spread love to those around us, including our families, friends and loved ones, and spreading love can come in different ways which includes GIVING…
The month of December is always filled with goodies, love and laughter, it is a very specialized month for many reasons, it’s the only month I get to enjoy myself to the fullest asides my birthday, and this is because of all the festivities it contains, there is Christmas and new year celebration in this present month, and the best definition of the month of December is enjoyment galore…
There is no dulling in the month of December, this is the particular month you see a lot of different people and families bring different sizes of chickens home to celebrate both Christmas and new year in a grand manner, some don’t even do chicken, they do frozen foods and turkey , Mehn I am already salivating over the mere thought of it lol, don’t mind me, this is my foodie attitude taking over me…
Just as I have said above, the month of December has always been a blessed month for my family and I, in the sense that, my mum is one hell of a cheerful giver, she is just that type of person who derives joy and happiness from giving…
My Dad has been a government worker for more than a decade, my elder sister has been working in a pharmacy for more than two years now, my elder brother has been working for a shipping company for more than eight months, and my mum has been working for more than 5 months now, which means my family members are all working classes except me, I am a writer with no boss 😂…
As a worker in different firms and organizations, it is a must for every boss to gift his or her employees a particular gift at the end of the year, this is to say thank you for working with us for this long, and for also contributing to the growth of our firm, I am sure you are grasping the message I am trying to convey…
Dad gets gifts from his customers and company in the month of December, my siblings and mum would also be getting a gift from their companies and customers this month, provided that they have served the company and their bosses well, which bring us to the question of the day; what is that one thing that no matter how hard things gets, I will always experience it with my family?…
Join me as I share that one special thing with you all, this is going to be short and awesome…
THAT ONE THING IS GIVING…
My family is big on the act of giving, my mum is the kind of person that gives even when she doesn’t have enough to give, she knows there will always be a way for her as long as the one above is still on the throne, she is what we call a cheerful giver on a normal day, but in the month of December she is what we call the most cheerful giver…
Giving is that one thing we experience no matter how hard things gets, my family and I will surely do it, be it december or not, but it is on a different level in the month of December because of the title it carries; the month love(giving)…
On a normal day my mum would give out 1-2 derikas of rice to another family who has nothing to eat, while in the month of December where we get lots of gifts like rice, groundnut oil and seasonings from different loved ones, my mum never hesitates to share almost everything with everyone in the house, this has been her way of doing things, we have tried to caution her but that is her own way of life, and we can’t change it, I guess that is why the LORD never forsakes us in the time of need, giving is indeed a blessing, it is now a December kind of thing tradition…
In summary, I don’t think this year will be any different, even with the fact that my mum won’t be spending the Christmas holiday with us at home, she will still be present for the new year celebration, and she will still give out a couple of things to the people around her, this is just her doing her yearly thing..
In conclusion, this is my own definition of the December tradition, it has always been that way in my family, and it won’t change even now, giving is a very good act, there is always a blessing for every cheerful giver out there, so don’t stop giving…
