Tough times are one of the most constant obstacles in life, touch times are mostly very challenging and often very difficult when it becomes too tougher, but then what can we do than to keep going and fighting it head on whenever it comes, which means tough times is a must in our life because they are part of the things that makes life quite sweet and worth living, if you understand you understand lol…
Accomplishing a great feat during tough times is one of man’s greatest strengths, and the craziest fact is that there is always a tough time behind every successful project or deed, which brings us to the next thing i am about to talk about, below are some famous quotes on tough times, these quotes were stated by known men in the worlds history, and they are written as follows;
“The greatest glory in living lies not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail.” – Nelson Mandela…
”Tough times never last but tough people do.” — Robert Harold Schuller…
This should be one’s daily mantra whenever one is having a tough time, challenges become less difficult and more easier to overcome when you make these quotes your daily mantra, I am a witness to this testament…
So without wasting too much time on my introduction to the topic, i will be heading right into what I have for you all today, this focuses on that one particular tough time i had in my life, what it entails, how it made me stronger, and my lessons from it, so join me on this short and interesting journey of my tough time…
I ALMOST GAVE UP…
It’s high time we time traveled a bit to the past, this should be exactly 4-5 years back, this was my high school days, i was literally preparing for my final high school exams which is known as WAEC back then, what I expected to happen didn’t actually happen the way I thought it would, but at the end I wasn’t put to shame, what happened and how it happened is what i will be talking about in the next few paragraphs;
Everything wasn’t looking too good as my two eldest siblings were still in tertiary institutions, i who happen to be the last born of my parents had a fastly slow education, and in no time WAEC was fast approaching, my initial thought was that raising the fee for this exam won’t be a major problem when it’s time for payment, this was my initial thought, little did i know that a lot was going on around that time and my dad who happens to be the only breadwinner of the family had settled some debts around that same period which made him quite broke…
The payment deadline was fast approaching and no payment has been made yet, most of my friends had gone for thumb-printing and I was not able to able to raise one tent of the fees, out of 40,000 naira, which was about 40 USDT back then, i had not paid anything and a lot of messages had been sent through me to my parents, mum was a full housewife and couldn’t do much, still yet she raised some funds and i was able to start some payments…
The pressure became too much on dad that he got angry and said some words to me that day, i went to my corner and started crying my eyes out thinking that was the end, two weeks to the allocated date for payment, i was just able to pay 30 percent of the money asked, all hope seems lost but just when i was about to give up, i remembered i had been preparing for this particular day many years ago(SS1), I had been saving up my feeding allowance and some gambling wins for years and around that time i had saved up to 50 USDT after 3 years of non stop savings…
The following day i ran to the woman who was in charge of my thrift and cashed out the remaining balance and immediately went to balance up my WAEC fees, I had to beg a teacher in my school to call my dad and tell him she was the one who borrowed me the money i used in balancing up my waec fees, this way he will be able to take the payment seriously and pay back quickly…
In summary, everything finally worked out for the best, i was taken to one of the best schools for my waec, and after some months my dad eventually paid back my money and we were good to go as ever, i sat for the exams, did well and came out with flying colors…
This particular examination is one of the most important things in the life of a student, the certificate is the most important, especially for future reasons which includes tertiary education and job seeking, i almost gave up but then my habit of saving came through for me at the most important point of my life, I SAVED MYSELF from failing…
My savings gave me the strength I needed to overcome that particular tough time in my life, and i was able to smile at the end of the whole process, and today i am an SSCE graduate and an aspiring tertiary student…
In conclusion, i learnt a lot from this situation, I learnt about the importance of savings and how important it is to not be a lavish spender, one should always prepare for the future because emergencies don’t give a prior warning before crawling into one’s life, one should always be prepared and ready for cases like this…
I prepared ahead and my preparation ahead yielded good results at the end of the day…
