There are hundreds of proverbs I have heard and taught by my teachers, parents and elder brothers. I remember the proverbs book I used to read sometimes in School Library. All of them have true meaning and advise to be used in daily life. In just few words, you would make someone understand the whole back story. We often hear some common proverbs in our routine life and also have an impact of it but most of us do not take it serious.
My life is full of those proverbs and I do remember their deep impact on my life. Since childhood, I used to smile and laugh a lot and at the same time, I am too aggressive as well. My family also makes fun of my laughing style. I do laugh a lot without any reason. This sometimes makes the other person annoyed. My father used to say that anything happens, you just keep on laughing and you will do the same your whole life. It’s true and I did that till now. It has many benefits one of which is you will get diverted from all your worries and makes your mind fresh.
Laughter keeps me healthy and is my source of energy. It also helps me in anger management. One of the reason could be I am the youngest in my family and do not have much responsibilities but still when I am married and have children, I stick with the same lifestyle. So, this proverb “Laughter is the best medicine” perfectly suits me.
There are many other saying which are being followed by me throughout my life in order to achieve the goals and presently where I am. I would like to share some of them:
Honesty is the best policy
This was inserted in my blood from childhood due to which I am always loyal and sincere at my work. It is the key and first step towards any success. If you are not honest to your company or family, it won’t last longer.
Actions speak louder than words
It’s true that I was loud but time and position changed me a lot and now, I used to guide my team with this one. Whenever they get disturbed or annoyed with any of the inter-department, I suggest it’s better to focus on your work and have error free performance instead of wasting time in arguments which is useless. No one will listen to what you say but watch you getting appreciation/performance certificates which is the perfect way to put across your words.
It’s no use crying over split milk
This is epic and my mother used to say this a lot. It was the time when I got failed in my mother language exam “Urdu” in 8th class. I was so disappointed but I was taught that better to think of supplementary exam rather than just wasting time in grief. Now, I used this phrase a lot at home and at work as well.
Learn to walk before you run
I just used this phrase a week ago with one of my team member. I was guiding him for his career to jump in sales from CS. I asked him to learn basic sales skills through telesales which he is already doing along with CS responsibilities but still there is a lot of room to be fill before going out on field for sales.
I believe in friendships because I have many friends who are there and helped me in hard times vice-versa me too stand with them when it is needed. It is not about money only, there are many other hard times when a true friend is required to give some hope and advices which always work in my case. A friend in need is a friend indeed is just not helping financially, it’s about standing together and getting rid of any trouble together.
I would end this topic here or else this will be endless…………….
