I have been to different countries and have seen their people, culture and their way of living. What I didn’t find there is the freedom that I have in my country. Yes, it is true, for me I never felt that pleasure and charm what I have in living in my own country where I belong to. I am a patriotic citizen of my country, Pakistan and will always be.
Unfortunately, we were hit by the natural disaster recently. Due to heavy rainfall, which was heavier than usual monsoon rains, caused flooding and land sliding all over Pakistan. Almost two third of Pakistan is in water having very critical situation. Millions of people are homeless due to destruction and damage caused by flood, shortage of food at flooded places and we have an alarming situation of spreading diseases as well. In these hard times, whole nation is standing by the flood victims and contributing for the relief funds to welfare organizations, trying level best to provide all necessary things to the needy ones.
However, before this natural disaster, we were not economically stable. Inflation and dollar rate, both were increasing rapidly. I am not an analyst or economist to have that much knowledge but just sharing my thoughts on what I observe by watching news channels and on social media which is not always 100 % correct. Fuel charges increased very dramatically so, overall situation was not good at all. What I observed and calculated through news channels is that these are the current world crisis means majority of the countries are facing these issues, we are not the only one.
I am not into politics but being neutral, I see people just blame Government for all the problems whereas I see them (people) more responsible for these issues and problems, including myself. We live in a fifth most populated country of the world where it is never easy to handle people who doesn’t follow law and don’t pay taxes. I think we as a citizens of a democratic nation are not performing our duties responsibly. As a result, we do not have that capable government who can tackle things efficiently and provide better living to their citizens.
One of the main problem is Pakistan is load shedding i.e. shutting down electric power. This is something which I never understood as why in 75 years from independence, we are still way behind in producing electric power. Even we have so many professionals around but how come we don’t have solution for it.
Complains are never ending so in short, I think we are going backwards. 75 years of time is a lot to build a nation into a whole new developed country with latest technologies but we failed to do so. However, I am still positive and think that we may have a bright future if correct decisions are taken by government and by people. We have seen many ups and downs, there were times when Pakistan progressed well but in last 3 decades, we were unable to speed up the progress, it is stuck somewhere and now going backwards.
Youth is the key for new Pakistan. Its high time and we need to think likewise in order to get rid of these problems and make a new pathway to get along in the whole new world of development and technology. We have a lot of international projects and investments coming into Pakistan which would help to stabilize things. We need to work on literacy rate especially in rural areas. The future of Pakistan is in the hands of our young generation and I am hopeful to see some good changes in near future as people are getting awareness and ability to choose between right and wrong.
