Hello friends! In 2023 my friends and I visited another historical site. It was Lalbagher Kella, Lalbagh Fort in english. It was a defensive fort for Mughals. Everyday a lot of visitors come here to see this historical interest.
During the Mughal period on 17th century Dhaka was the capital of the Bengal. It is a beautiful architectural monument. It was started building by Shahjada Muhammad Azom son of one of the great Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. But he couldn't finish the work. He was shifted to Delhi. Subedar restarted the work. But suddenly his daughter Pari Bibi died in the fort. Then he stopped the work. He thought this fort called bad luck for him that's why her daughter died.
It was a garden more than a fort. The grave of Pari Bibi is in the front side of the fort made. Her grave decorated with white marble from Rajasthan and black touchstone. There is a large pond in the fort. Most of the time it remains dry. There was a large living room for Nawabs familt. That is used as a museum now where many historical things are kept. The fort is also famous for some mysterious tunnels.
The finishing side of these tunnels is still unknown to the historians. There are a three domed mosque. Still now people perform their prayer here. It is a great historical sign also.
We were fascinated to visit the Lalbagh Fort. We felt a historical memory. In 1990s an image of a corner of this historical monument was used in 100 taka note of Bangladesh.
