Hello creators and Hiver, welcome to another edition of #creative-sunday. Today we would be looking at the making of something rather hand made with the use of nothing but paper and well some level of coordination and precision, it called paper craft. To be more specific today we would look at how to make a boomerang from scratch using nothing but paper, probably some tape and well thats all.
Yeah like I said we would see how a boomerang can be made from paper with nothing but your hands, no special tools required . Just in case you don't know what a boomerang is, here 👇
What is a boomerang 🪃?

The image you see above is a boomerang, and this boomerang has a rather peculiar shape, it shade four edge which could also be called blades.
Now basically a boomerang is a carefully crafted tool usually made from wood, it could be made from other materials but mostly it is made from wood. In our case we are making our from paper which can later be reinforced. So moving on, a boomerang 🪃 is a tool designed to fly gracefully and elegantly through the air and also return to its owner after completing its journey. So in short a boomerang once thrown flies around in a circle and finally returning to its starting point.
Therefore if a properly made boomerang, emphasis on "properly made" is properly thrown, emphasis on "properly thrown" from a point A to point C , it moves from a point A in circular motion to point B , then return back to point A, yeah we have a little physics going on here involving aerodynamics and gyroscopic stability.
Now a boomerang is not all rose and sunshine, it can be sometimes be used as a very efficient weapon, efficient in the sense that it returns back to you once thrown, basically you catch it on it return journey and speaking about stealth, it makes no sound while flying and spinning through the air. It also can be made in various shapes and sizes.
Now know what a boomerang 🪃 is, but how can it be made for use as a play tool (not weapon) from something as simple as a paper . Let find out 👇
How make a boomerang 🪃 from paper
- First get 4 square papers, with the same length and width
If you dont have one, create one
Once created 👇
Once created, bring both edges of each paper to the mid point, making a form a kind of rectangle
- if you did the above correctly, you should have a diamond shaped structure , but we dont want that what we want is a triangle, so fold the remaining part making it into a proper triangle
- Now do some extra folding at the back as shown in the image below 👇
- Once this is done , fold again applying pressure at the center point, use the image below as a reference
Now insert those paper blades into one another forming a kind of Central square

So there you have it, how to make a paper based boomerang, and of course it can be further reinforce to give it some added durability and air resistance
