Greetings!
One thing about education is that, “it's the best legacy.” Education as the best legacy is something we must embrace with every form of simplicity no matter what.
However, what we now have is education being a form of war for the learners. To me, education should not be so hard like it is now as learning has to be in the simplest form for one to be able to comprehend.
Having said this, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt which is all about, “A simple education.”
A simple education is one thing that should be prioritized in our learning culture. But here we are that students are being faced with difficulties in their process of learning.
When I was still an undergraduate, learning was the most difficult thing for me and this was because of the toxic atmosphere and environment being presented for us to carry out our learning process.
Back then in my school, the lecturers would not make things work out for you as a student as they only believed in making you work hard without anything to show for it.
I could remember one of them telling us that it would be difficult for us to have an “A” in his course. He said A is only meant for God and B for his family. My question here is, “Is this kind of a lecturer making things easy for the students?” My answer to this question is a capital No.
So, there's no way you read and prepare so well for this man exam that you will get an A. It's not as if the exam's question set by this man is so difficult for the students to answer, but because of his own ego and belief, he made what needs to be made simple to be difficult.
Aside from this, I have also seen an HOD of a department telling the senate of the university that he has no student to be presented for convocation just because they refuse to graduate. When I heard this, I was so surprised and I began to wonder how students who had spent five years studying geology would refuse to graduate by themselves after they have spent so much on projects and with the energy they have put in place to learn at the university.
However, everyone knows for sure that it's not their fault but for the fact that the department or let me say the educational system in this part of the world has made it impossible for us to have a simple learning process.
Aside from this, the students have also made it, I mean learning to be kind of difficult for themselves as they only learn to compete with others there making something that would have been made simple too difficult for themselves.
In conclusion, my own opinion is that the education and learning process should be made simple so as for all to learn and learn well and also, the unnecessary difficulties which have been imported should be put to a check.
