Imagine if there were no security issues, no traffic and the risk of accidents has been reduced to the barest minimum... What would be your favourite mode of transport? Give us your reasons.
Safer, faster and cheaper mediums of transportation will be a great addition to enhancing national security seeing that transit is constant despite the insecurity that scourge our cities.
My love for Road travels
It started back when I was in primary school and my Dad will take me along with him on trips distant towns within the state. I'd be so delighted to miss school that day for the joy of going on an adventurous journey with my Dad.
No matter how long the journey was, it always seemed short because as I sit by the window, I'd gist with my Dad eat all the food my stomach could hold, sleep, wake up and continue the cycle till we got to our destination.
Reason is, I always enjoy all the beautiful landscapes of nature, the cool breeze, learn some landmarks and everything in between when travelling by road but with the increasing emergence of traffic jams, numerous police checkpoints on the road (if you live in Nigeria, you'll understand 😉) that can add extra hours to your journey so I resorted to travelling less except I have a special program or meeting to attend.
My Pleasant Boat Rides
I also have a thing for travelling by boat. I come from a riverine area and that's our #1 means of transportation.
It gives me a chilly filling and I'd most times dip my hands into the river or spread my arms towards the incoming slight waves just to get a little wet. Travelling by sea is quite fast because there is no traffic and the sea breeze is always there to cool your body heated by the scorching sun. Although the speed of your journey depends on the kind of boat you're in: a speed boat, a canoe, a local boat(a mini ship) or a ship and others.
I'll never forget the experience I had when travelling to another state for the Christmas holidays with my sisters. We travelled via a local boat (mini ship) and didn't know we were in for a time of our lives as we spent over 26 hours on the boat and at night, the captain had to turn off the lights for fear or nearby sea pirates!
But that experience didn't kill my love for boat travels, we still took a speed boat back home after that.
Notwithstanding, I'm yet to explore air and train transportation and from what I see in movies and hear from people's experiences, these are really great & and I'll sure love them.
