Food is one of the most important things required for our growth, health and the kind of food is even more important.
God has blessed us with great natural foods through mother nature that gives us its best to enable us live healthier, stronger amd longer.
Fruits, veggies, fish, meat and other natural foods contain essential minerals and vitamins that are essential to our nutritional needs and health. They are readily available, taste great when cooked( well... depending on who's cooking it π) and cost effective.
Diary products, cereals, soft drinks, cakes, pasta are so tempting and myself being a brand ambassador of the great food called "Bread" Still hold that they have less nutritional value due to their production processes, the added sugars, preservatives and colours that make them appealing to the eyes and taste buds.
It's imperative to know that if someone is carried away by the sweet taste of these processed foods and doesn't control his intake, he can fall victim to a number of health challenges including obesity, heart and and gastric problems.
Permit me to add that though being the best, not all our natural foods are 100% safe because some of them especially fruits, potatoes, tomatoes can be genetically modified to make them ripen faster, look bigger amd even taste sweeter. In addition to it, some of them while still in the soil have had a great share of the chemical fertilisers used to hasten their growth making them lose some of their nutritional value.
Some of them are grown on a soil that have been in constant use for a very long time therefore, has lost some of its nutrients and hasn't been left to fallow and regain them.
Furthermore, the way these foods are stored after harvesting also plays another key role. Some have been attacked by pests but are still being sold in the markets, grocery stores, even without the knowledge of the farmer and you know the bad effects of all these on our health.
Conclusively, natural foods are at the top of the list for me; truth be told that we still get mesmerised by the taste of processed foods, we should strike a balance between them and I recommend that in addition to balancing them, make sure you take your "Nutitional Supplements". All the food we eat do not contain the exact amount of required nutrients our bodies need that's why your nutritional supplements especially those that contain strong antioxidants are a must have for a healthier and stronger life.
