My first travel seem to be one of the trip I went to that lived a rent free in my head. I was just a little kid, I think I was in primary school, basic 4.
We just concluded our third term examination, so we were on a long term break, sometimes it last for almost two months. My dad use to work in Abuja while we live kwara state. Myself and my elder brother asked him if we could come over to his place to spend the holiday, luckily for us he accepted our request, I was so happy that day like someone who just won a jack pot.
The reason for my happiness was that I'll have a chance to visit one of the places have been longing to visit, because I was told that Abuja is a very beautiful place, and secondly it's my first trip.
Luckily for my brother and I, my dad's younger brother who use to work in the same company with my dad came to Ilorin to do some things, so we just followed him to Abuja on his way back.
The night before the day we would take off was like heaven in earth lols, I couldn't even sleep, I was already dreaming of myself in Abuja, how I will have a nice time there, make friends and enjoy my holiday to the fullest. So imaginations filled my mind, lols I was just a kid don't mind me.
When it was morning we head to the park, I was feeling so excited, I was so happy that anyone that sees me parking my bags will think I'm traveling out of the country, but no it was just Abuja.
On getting to the park, we did the necessary things and then entered the bus but guess what we all were giving a juice (caprisone) and one snack each, good old days ehn, I don't think they do that now anymore, maybe they do but I've not experienced such since then, who will even share juice and snacks inside this present economy lols, I know the person will think twice.
After few minutes inside the bus, I started feeling uncomfortable, at first I couldn't really recognise what it's, not until I vomited, even when I was not sick or showing any symptoms whatsoever, but some people said it was due to the fuel inside the bus.
I vomited up to three times, before we got to Abuja, even when we got to kogi state, where we ought to stop by to eat at a popular restaurant, I couldn't eat anything, the journey was becoming tiring at this point. When everyone went inside the canteen to eat, I was outside lying like a helpless fellow. I had removed my shirt already, only left with my singlet and trouser.
I managed to hold it till we got to Abuja, after getting to our destination I had a good rest, then started having some appetite gradually, they made one of my favourite meal (rice and beans) and after I slept like a baby. I had a good holiday Abuja anyways but my journey there was not something I wish to experience never again.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY.
